While i wait for the new patch to install.. at a measly 50kb's a second sitting at 715mb of 4,282.6mb done i figured id help pass the time with a review on my thoughts of the game..
Ok, where do i begin? it's not like the usual rant one would do for reviewing a videogame, Firstly i recall getting this game around midday on the 10th of november. Literally around two weeks passed like i was in a dream state, i spent over 240 hours exploring the vast world that skyrim presents us with. Only did i scraqe the butter of the surface of this wonderful product. now combine my time on the pc and ps3 and you get somewhere around 380 hours.. in total ive discovered just under 300 locations, fought countless dragons and beasts and men alike,. every time you step into the world of skyrim the game draws you in, "you" are telling the story as you go it your own way, and im yet to find an area that isnt surrounded by the most beautiful vistas going back to distant kraggy mountaintops with blooming aura's of sunlight splashing over the world that lays before you, or those awe inspiring nighttime boraliss's or whatever you call them.
compared to oblivion where your "locked" into a character architype here im free to be as i wish "on the fly" mostly ill behave as a warrior/rogue type. but when the situation calls i turn everything to a mage type with afew clicks of the keyboard and im ready to call in magical aid, bring light to a dark cave, or even to turn iron ore into silver!
the world of skyrim is far more than an experience that you'll smash through and be like 'ok whats next'?.. like most other games out today. Skyrim is a world within a game.. a literal world that has seemingly no bounds, exept for afew moral issues and such that certain people must have a problem with.. "Sigh.. its a video game"... kapish'?
in all this time im amazed at the lack of glitches.. ok on occassion ill bump into a texture a small square out in the far reaches say high above solitude out in the borders or something that will flicker.. i am just far too enthralled in the lore and the world to really care so just keep playing thinking of how remarkibly smooth this game runs and feels. it's a beast to be tamed for sure.
What other game can boast it holds it's audience at the title menu just to hear the song play out in it's entirety..? i swear i get tingles just listening to that and ill usually go along with the words.. in my own way but im sure there's many of us who do the same?
Everything feels so good, looks so good. its in the emotion you feel while taking in the jaw dropping vistas as you ride a horse through the leaves scattered areas around Riften with all the beautiful birch trees and colours it just gets me everytime.. in fact its in every square inch of this game that i feel so tied to its world. so much so in fact that i feel like skyrim actually exists!
It's one thing to play a game.. another entirely to be on the opposite end of the table actually making this dream come true. and i hold nothing but the most upmost respect for the talented team at Bethesda Softworks ( Todd Howard & Co )...

i make "crysis" maps in my sparetime and hobby hours.. and i can appreciate how much it must have taken to actually place evry single item into the world. im talking about of course, the fruit, the books, the weapons and armours, the placement of trees.. to all theose particles that come in at just the right time like the whooshing winds as you climb a mountain peak to then stand at the highest most unsafe rockface you can find and view the span of the open world before you.. it it truly Breathtaking*
On the side of sound, remarkable again. the world is teeming with sounds from every direction. and the voice cast do a great job at making you believe in the npc's.
Skyrim surprises me even now, just when you think you've seen it all, heard it all you find something new or a quest that was hidden from you, or a guard comments in a way to your player than you havent heard before and your mind is blown over again. as this happens you begin to have this sinking feeling that OMG.. this game is truly massive, almost dauntingly so.. and you will be hard pressed to turn this game off and come back to reality..

On the side of game breaking errors, i really cant see anything "game breaking" only frustrating at times when say you get stuck in some rocks on a cliff.. and an enemy is nearby.. so you cant fasttravel out. or a certain "Lydia" wont wear the armour you want her to.. or say when you use bows against a flying dragon and it meraculously evades you in an "arkward" spin move as it try's to throw you off target, its like the game is trying to uverride what your telling it to do. but other than this very little issues and even with the issues, this game will forever be a Jewel in the world of videogames.. one that will be passed down for years to come and life in our hearts for a lifetime.
Especially those like me who have skyrim tattoos or are getting them done soon.. tomorrow in fact i get my first skyrim tattoo.. yes the great dragon symbol we all know and love!
anyway. thanks for reading. i hope you enjoy Skyrim as much as i do!!
