I'am actually more excited for the game after the G4 review. [censored] I spent 60$ on two worlds I doubt I could ever make a bigger mistake but everything that guy hates I love. The creativity got away from the reviewers if you ask me far too much cod. I could dissect half of these and their woes would be my pleasures.

Another 8.0 score yes!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/brink/review/

Game trailers 7.9 I read on the other post.

The open minded sites are giving it good scores with a "thorough" review that is detailed and not rushed like IGN's

i dun get IGN...a 6 ?...really? just coz splash damage didnt pay u for a good review. i am getting it regardless of what IGN says their reviews arent as good as they used to be :/
i do not get their point of story at the start of the match getting in the way of the action???....i rather have pretty cutscene to watch then staring at the load screen .

Repetition as a negative? Really? What game isn't repetitive in order to get better?

Don't listen to your brother, get it, and show him how good of a game it is. Also tell him Urban said he's pretty dumb to trust reviews.

R.I.P Brink. You were killed by reviewers before you were even given an honest chance.

Whoa, these are looking like some pretty bad reviews. I actually found myself pondering the thought of trying to cancel my order when I read them. Then I remembered I don't care what reviews say about games I play. I guess this is what happens when you don't bribe the writers =/

G4 took money for reviews in the past. How can fallout 3 beat fable 2 as an rpg but fable takes GOTY in 08?. IGN is shady as well never trust anyone who makes ass effect GOTY as a valuable review source.

Indeed, a review is only worth so much.

Don't be disappointed too much my friends, the reviews I've seen have been for sites that I wouldn't really consider trust worthy. The games radar reviewer seemed to have a more non-biased review.

The only thing that kind of bummed me was the A.I., but that's OK. I'm going to be playing online, as most people are. The team play has been given props in most of the reviews I've seen, as well as SMART. I think brink is going to be in my top games of the year.

If Splash Damage ever makes a Brink 2, they should make the Campaign seperate to the Multiplayer. I think that people like having one game mode that's hectic and another that is more linear. I don't mean something as scripted as COD but with a bit of structure to it

A score of 8 is average.

How is 8 average? On most sites, 8 means "great". It usually comes with the connotation that it isn't for everybody though.

I'm seriously looking at this as a blessing in disguise. If you're purely going off of reviews for your gaming experience then please step away from the controller (Keyboard & mouse).

To most gamers an 7 or 8 is terrible despite what the reviewer says.

I'm sorry, I'm all excited for brink and all still (and agree that the G4 review is probably less than accurate) but I don't think Mass Effect, nor Fallout, can be so easily dismissed. Again, people have opinions and reviews make this pretty clear with most anything. While these reviews may indeed be shady, the fact that a game received good ones from them doesn't mean that its automatically bad, and the fact that they disagree with your opinion doesn't automatically make them shady (though again, and I'm hopefully not being hypocritical, I'm inclined to agree with you in this case). We'll all see upon receiving our own copies, and for those who are doubting: at least rent it if the idea was enough to get you even a little excited.

Ahh... IGN, you're such a an expletive website. I'm pretty sure IGN is the website that criticized BFBC2 because the matches ended abruptly once a team one. The commenters where like "WTF, mate? The matches end when somebody wins? That is a negative aspect!?" IGN actually removed the sentence from the review. Apparently, there isn't enough COD in this game (I'm not bashing COD, everybody has their preferred playing style).

I don't believe a single word of these scathing reviews. The fact is that people on these forums are reporting positive impressions of the game, and YouTube uploaders are also enjoying this title. I'd rather trust the gamers who want a meaningful experience, than the journalist who are more focused on maintaining the industry status quo.

Ur words made me Happy!

Other than a few really big name reviewers (IGN, 1UP, Joystiq, G4tv) the reviews have been pretty positive. I'm not at all deterred by the few poor ones i've read because their negative points don't really make much sense.

This is true, just the Big 4 are neg. Look at the rest...

GamrReview: 8.2
Computer&Videogames: 8.0
Xbox Achievement: 8.0
Game Radar: 8.0
Eurogamer: 8.0
Game Trailers: 7.9 (I read on another post)
Destructoi: 7.5 (I read somewhere on here in this thread)

Looks more positive than neg to me. Some of you that are worried just seem to be going off of IGN, did you "listen" to how vague his reasons were?

I suggest you read these other sites, they gave a good write up about the Bad & Good.

I'm looking forward to getting my copy tomorrow :)
