2 reviews from relatively well known sources. Don't know about you guys, I'm still picking my copy up later today regardless of these.

Check out http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/brink/review/brink-super-review/a-20110509142556983053/g-2009052911331493062 and http://www.computerandvideogames.com/300618/reviews/brink-review/

I tend to trust these two a little more when it comes to more under the radar games such as this one.

Ah these two reviews make me feel much better. I know IGN is pretty bias with their reviews, and Joystiq gave a low score to Section 8: Prejudice because of the Lobby system (or lack of) as well. Glad to see some that seem to look at the strong suits of Brink.

Wow.
IGN gave it a 6.

Oh well... I'm still picking it up myself. And I will enjoy it!

Why does everybody care about deathmatch so much, they think objective are repetitive but midlessly killing isn't. IGN, you are filled with nonsice reviewers that have no clue what is fun, I am taking you off my bookmarks!

Yup. Shame that when Brink tries something new like SMART, they get ripped on for "not being like other FPS's."

I never trust IGN or G4 reviews. Gamesradar was the one I was waiting for and it got pretty much what I thought it would.

This game isn't for everyone and we knew that. It's going to be hard for some gamers to understand/enjoy this style of FPS.
Honestly as long as we all stick together this can be a fun game even if it has a small community. ;)

Actually it's kinda like 16 maps. You play defense one time, then offense another time, so it's like 2 maps.

The writer for IGN is low level. Probably not even a player. Reviews can be helpful, but you have to put it in context, too. I was going to take a look at his player profile for XBLA and PSN, but his IGN profile was enough for me to dismiss his drivel. From what I can ascertain, the game posed to much of a challenge and lacked the variety for him to maintain an interest in it. I can't help him in the skill department, but when it comes to boredom...there are no boring things, only boring people who make 'em boring. And being "boring" is a subjective term, that aphroism makes profound sense. When it comes to non-hyped games, I don't even bother with reviews. I'm able to form an opinion just fine on my own. As for the "I want to know if it's good before I spend my hard earned money" argument, rent it/GameFly.
