Reviews thread

I think it's a good idea to open a thread for the reviews from gaming publications:

OXM: 9/10

"According to the mag, it was the multiplayer that tipped the balance. It describes the online experience as "some of the most exciting, angry and satisfying action you'll ever have".

The sheer spectacle of the single player campaign also left OXM impressed, and the mag said the game's Nanosuit "is both massively empowering and intelligently balanced by the need to manage its energy levels".

German PCAction Magazine: 9/10

Positives:
- Graphics and brilliant effects
- Tactical gameplay due to nanosuit
- Robust upgrade system
- Challenging AI
- Good control
- Impressive scripted scenes/events

Negatives:

- Not enough variation in gameplay
- Story takes a while to get going
- Some badly placed checkpoints
- New York

PC Guru: 95/100!!

I agree with them. Many people including myself just prefer jungle setting over NY, a city that appears in far too many games.

honestly? I was born in Italy...but saying "New York" as being a negativeaspectof the game is ridiculos. For starters a lot of people prefer an urban jungle, and secondly it could have been replaced by "urban setting".....the way it is right now seriously sounds snobbish

Just chill out, mate. It's jus a matter of preference. For the guy who reviewed the game, the setting in this game (NY) is a negative, but for you it's a positive. It's pointless, if not stupid, to argue about which preference is "right" and "wrong".

It's cool since the US have a bad rep pretty much across the planet.

These reviews are worthless anyway, they're all refering to the console version. For the PC the game measures up against higher standards.

seems to me that the term "urban jungle" is used just so that it has "jungle" in it. its not a jungle at all, its a **** city.

I′m happy about the change of setting to be honest. After playing Crysis and Warhead, as great as the island setting was I think I′ve gotten all I′ll get out of it.

btw there is a scan of a review from a magazine called GAMER circulating on some boards. The score is 8.7...but the whole review aside for a few captions is nothing but gibberish so I am not sure it's legit

that's because the online reviews are embargoed.

EA did the same with ME2, DS2, BAA, DA2......

I saw a portion of a review from the UK version of Official Playstation Magazine, giving it an 8 out of 10. Someone commented that they review Single Player and Multiplayer separately, however.

No link, but a quick google search will do the trick.
