A revision of my old RP

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:29 am

Well the time has finally come and i think it's about time i brought back my Outcasts RP...

it's been maybe a year since i last attempted it, and i was sad that after all the work that went into it and all the hype it generated, it ground to a halt before it left the ground.

though it did so because i posted it at a bad time of year for me and i was working and also that i started the storyline at a crucial bit but alot of people got caught up in different storylines so we ended up with alot of people waiting for others to finish up their side stories... and etc... blah

ANYWAYS.... my point is, i have been meditating on this for the past month or so and have come up with a way to start it again, still make it interesting and involving but also allow the freedom to setup your characters before the intense storyline gets going, and still allow freedom to continue your side stories as the main one progresses

for any of you that dont remember my old RP, here's some links

Now on with the changes,

1ST:

Just so we dont get muddled at the beginning, im bringing the timeline backward a bit and starting it sooner, before all the Founder's have met.

2ND:

I've revised the Opening Post a bit, namely the history/setup, not drastically and it's mainly the last two paragraphs that are new, (which still need some tweaking so dont be put off)

It's the end of the Third Era, and if it was not for the one called the "Champion of Cyrodiil," the empire would be in ruins. After Martin's sacrifice banished Mehrunes Dagon, Ocato tried to take control. However, his elven superiority complex caused many under his rule to rebel and deny Ocato's right to rule. Even the Champion of Cyrodiil severed all ties to the empire--even he despised Ocato, after being ordered around like a lapdog.

By the end of the era each of the guilds had changed hands, appointing new leaders. The rash of inexperienced leadership led the guilds in general to be weak and unorganised. They were kept in check by the Champion of Cyrodiil, who would occasionally converse with each of the leaders--even the Gray Fox and the Dark Brotherhood Listener.

Everyone still revered the Champion as their saviour. As long as he was around, Cyrodiil felt safe.

However, the Champion eventually disappeared, leaving nothing but the memory of his title. Oddly, everyone in Cyrodiil remembered and honoured his great achievements, yet no-one could remember who he was. It was as if he had never existed, beyond the records of his accomplishments.

With the Champion out of the picture, a massive flux of rebels felt free to emerge out of the shadows to move against the beheaded Empire. However, their disorganized attempts always ended with lots of innocent blood spilt and a long hike back into hiding.

There are rumours about a Khajiit travelling the land in search of people who want fairness and equality with the promise of rewards and a brighter future for all, and although many believe it to be nonsense and hearsay many believe it to be true and have gone in search of this Khajiit in hopes of joining his cause.

Whispers also tell of many guild related incidents such as theft and kidnapping but also counts of murder, little is known about the cause of such violence but many can't help but assume it is related to the Khajiit rumoured to be the new saviour.

But is it really?

There's only one way to find out?

3RD: I've also brightened the moral alignment of the guild to neutral, before i had indicated that it was leaning toward evil/bad, but as the guild has not been started i have left it neutral even though my would be founder still has good intentions.
I have done this mainly so that your characters own alignment, goal etc.. will actually sway the direction we will work to, example: if we end up with a large majority of characters that are evily inclined then our guild will no doubt sway that way too, and vice versa. This hopefully adds some form of control and feeling that you affect the guild as a whole.

4th: As we are starting before the guilds foundation, this will begin as more of an adventure/freeform RP then develop into a Guild RP when we hit a certain stage and will still have much to explore

5TH: finally i have also been working on some twists and plot developments that will unveil along the way just so that we definatly have something interesting to keep us going if we ever hit a deadzone.

I hope this peak's your interest as i would love to bring this back to the forum even if not all of the original "cast" also return

please leave any comments you may have, good or bad, and please cast your vote on the poll

PS. i also may be changing the name of the guild and the RP so any new suggestions for either are welcome

Sounds good. I seem to remember you having a horror RP set in a town just north of Bruma once?

Anywho, I might well join. I'm looking to get back into TES RPing, and a new RP seems better then hopping onto an already moving train. (The words of a wise bum with an inexplicably broken arm).

close, i had an horro RP set in Coldharbour, a twisted version of tamriel full of lovely gore

but yes, that was my other RP that i was considering bringing back, but as i've already given birth to it twice and not taken care of it, i focused on this to make it splendiddly endelend

EDIT: also, if anyone has a suggestion for WHERE to begin, a general area such as a town or surrounding area that we can all start at, last time it was the Imperial city, which im happy to do again but just incase anyone wants somewhere else, and just to note, this doesnt have to be a purely cyrodiil rp, i'm flexibile in its setting, though obviouslt most ppl know cyrodiil

Mayhaps a small unheard of village some where between Kvatch and Anvil? Just so we're not in a sprawling place known to be smaller etc. etc.

I'll definently join this, even though it's a bit bad a time for me. Inside a week i'll go to english-land. So I'll be rping a little slowly.

Also, since the name is supposed to be something you can say infront of people, it should be something slightly symbolic. omnious and something unnoticeable. I remember you saying "The Others" or something like that. Or it could be called "The Friends" but that sounds like a sitcom. Im rather blank with names and such, but I do have my old char in mind. :) If you're still up for it.

And then suddenly it turns out you yourself got a job or a life.

That's the typical way of things happening. When others are busy, you're free, when others are free you're busy.

Count me in. Any idea where I should post a character sheet?

Also, perhaps Border Watch and Water's Edge might be a nice starting area for the roleplay. They can both be put together to be considered a small town large enough to host a melting pot of adventurers hungry for roleplay. It also fits in with the Khajiit theme, however you intend to develop it.

I'll post a CS tommorrow so I have some time to think up a good character. Also I don't think it should start in a town, perhaps a secluded location somewhere.

Hmm... I'm not exactly sure of what the plot is going to be when we join, to be honest. Does this Khajiit happen to be leading the rebels and we are joining him/her?

I have no idea as I'm not the one making it :P

I think we are joining the khajiit in starting a guild to rebuild the empire or something. Read the plot description.

Just to summarize, (and by that i mean be really vague because i dont want to spoil or dictate the storyline) but in the beginning our goal so to speak will be to find the khajiit (which is male fyi), the khajiit's goal is to form a new guild but that doesnt mean you have to have the same goal to hunt him down, you may want to find him to join him, or maybe stop/kill him, maybe your an assassin hired by another guild who knows, im leaving it entirely up to the individual why your joining to look for him.

depending on how well the opening adventure goes, it may be quite short or quite long before the guild aspect begins, i'll leave that up to the players also, but either way i have a few sub plots that i can place in at any time be it before or after we find the khajiit

but yes, i plan to start it alot slower than the eventual pace shall be, because i want the beginning to be about exploring your character and getting to know each others while working toward a common goal, that way when we come to the guild aspect, those that are still there will have bonds and connections that make sense to all that have seen. and there is a chance that if your from the beginning you could be a founder too though that isnt a must, i will let people bring in brand new characters for founders if they so wish... tho i will have the final say on who is a founder and i will more than likely bestow that onto people i have witnessed roleplaying well, such as people ive rpd with before and know are good, or people that have been in the rp a while and i have seen can do it

as i made two posts in a row, dont forget to read the one above this on ^.^

and for the record, this will be my opening character, the one that goes in search of the khajiit, and yes... its ANOTHER khajiit.... sigh so predictable i am....

Name: Narkiorrou
Nickname: Korro
Gender: Male
Race: Khajiit (Imperial Father)
Age: 26
Birthsign: The Warrior

Height: 5 ft 9
Build: Quite muscular but not overly bulky.
Eye Colour: Yellow
Hair Style: Medium length mane up in spikes. (see pic)
Fur Colour: Yellowish with brown stripes. (see pic)

Image: http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t244/klown-korpse/My%20Art/Narkiourru.jpg

Class: Thief, Smuggler and just plain good for nothing.
Focus: Stealth with aspects of combat.
Skills: Dual Blade fighting, Sneak, Security, Acrobatics, Athletics, Mercantile.

General Appearance: His face and torso could easily be Imperial, yet his ears and claws are definatly that of a Khajiit, let alone all the fur. His stance shows his arrogance yet his expression shows his kind-heart.
Tattoos/Scars: N/A

Clothing: (See Pic)

Armor: None
Weapon: Two Massive Combat Knives.

Pack/Pockets: Has a Large shoulder sack that usually contains Moonsugar, Skooma, Telvanni Bug Musk and various Dwemer objects. His pockets usually have a few Coins, Picks and Probes jingling about.

Magic: N/A

Mentality: Cool, calm and collected sums him up. Never heard of the word 'Consequences' as he is always doing things he is sure to get into big trouble for, but because he goes about it so casually he is hardly ever caught. He has been known to frequently taunt armed guards just so they will chase him for a bit. He sees life as a game.

Misc:
-: Although he can fight with two blades, he isn’t very skilled and so can’t pull off any amazing moves. He fights with very simple yet effective attacks and never rushes in headstrong.
-: His shield is his sense of humour, any threats aimed at him will go unnoticed and he will usually come back with something witty.
-: Had a hard life to begin with due to his father, until he ran away and now he takes it all in his stride without letting anything get to his head.

History: (WORK IN PROGESS)

its good to see more interest being generated, keep those character sheets coming, in preperation for the story it will help me to know what kind of characters will be there to start, then i can know what to plan for etc...

and one thing i forgot to mention, if you plan on being a candidate for being a founder, i would like you to have some kind of specialization, but something that goes beyond the simple Combat/Magic/Stealth thing, if you look at the founder sheets from the previous version you will get an idea, and i may allow a certain degree of lore-breaking, uberness within reason, and by that i do NOT mean guns or a sword that can dissolve anything it touches, i mean more like something the BSparrows char had in the last one, a strange curse that makes his face extremely forgettable, so much so no-one can recognize him..... just an example but u get the idea

and just to clarify, anything like that i DO expect to be PMd to me first, as a request so i will be moderating anyone with so called uber talents

Heres mine:

Name: Aryon Sarethi
Nickname: Aryon
Gender: Male
Race: Dunmer
Age: Unknown
Birthsign: The Mage

Height: 6ft 1
Build: Not very muscular. Average build, not too skinny or too fat.
Eye Colour: Red
Hair Style: Long black hair reaching down behind his shoulders
Skin Colour: Dunmer gray

Image: http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/6610/55166333.png

Class: Wizard
Focus: Purely all arts of magic with main emphasis on Destruction and Conjuration
Skills: All of the schools of magic

General Appearance: He has a long sharp face, showing the signs of years of worldly experience. He stands like that of an arrogant man, one who would rather trust himself to do something than another.
Tattoos/Scars: N/A

Clothing: Dunmer Armun-An Bonemold Armor, excluding the helmet. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:MW_Armor_BonemoldArmun-AnM.jpg

Armor: Armun-An Bonemold armor
Weapon: None, he needs no weapon.

Pack/Pockets: Small sack of coins attatched to his armors hip plate.

Magic: Many different spells learned over his long life though he is most fond of destruction and conjuration spells which he is most skilled in.

Mentality: An extremely calm and centred man, always thinking first about the consequences of every action. His wise mind has helped him much in the past in every situation. His arrogance on the other hand has often got the better of him. However his patience does have a limit when around people he deems as fools, not that he would burst into anger over it though. He would see it as a waste of his time.

History: He has had a long history and even he has forgotten some of his most earliest memories. He does not care much for his youth years as he saw himself as a fool back then and headstrong, never thinking of his actions and what consequences it could of, and had brought about. His life is not nearing its end yet, a Dunmer lives long and there are many years to go yet for Aryon. However he himself thinks there is little else to see in the world.
