Rewards for siding with each faction without the spoilers pl

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:23 pm

The decision is hard as it is, I don't know if the side with the brotherhood or the institution and I would like to know which rewards each faction yields at the end to help my decision, I might at the end play through all but I want my main playthrough to be with the reward I want most.
Can't find it on the internet without major spoilers I already got burnt a bit by trying to search around and there isn't much info of the game right now online.

brotherhood you get jetpack for your power armor the ability to call in vertibirds for transport and i cant tell you the last thing without spoilers.

institute you unlock the ability to teleport anywhere instantly with no time loss with the relay system and at the end the ability to summon your own synths (with the synth relay grenades you can buy from the institute shop) (a little warning though.. nearly all factions are hostile to the synths you summon with the grenades.. city/settlement guards.. will all attack the synths you summon.) on the plus side.. you dont incur any penatlies when the synths you summon attack them as it doesnt count as you attacking for whatever reason and after the synths are destroyed they will just continue on with business as though it never happened.

not sure what railroad gives as i havent sided with them yet.

Railroad gives you the ability to upgrade armor and clothing you couldn't normally upgrade. I've heard people upgrading military fatigues to have 95 physical and energy resist.

Jetpack power armor mods can be made by anyone with a high enough Armor Skill and Science skill, so a faction connection is not needed for it, if you wish to craft one and have the skill.

As you can see other people could do it so I don't understand what is your problem.

Thank you so much for the information which is rare now days, about the institute teleport anywhere, sounds very tempting but it is really teleporting ANYwhere or just like fast travel to places you've been without time loss?

its just fast travel with no time loss with the relay system.. only to places youve already been before.. instead of a normal fast travel you get the blue screen flashy relay teleporty thing when you fast travel and its instant.

The only downside.. is in order to use that feature you have to warp to the institute first (meaning 2 loading screens to get where you want to go) its still faster than the vertibird flying you there though.. then again its only really useful if you traited for certain times of day.. like trying to quickly traverse while its still sunny for solar powered ect.. and you could just sit down and wait if thats really that important.. its still pretty cool though.. its funny though that noone reacts to you warping next to them in a giant blue flash of light..

Honestly it would be much cooler if it did it automatically whenever you fast traveled.. instead of requiring you go back to institute first.. would make it a much cooler perk.

I see a mod coming that disables fast travel unless you have that ability. I'd quite like that actually.

It'd be really funny if some oblivious people downloaded the "no fast travel" mod and couldn't complete the game because of it.

why wouldnt they be able to complete the game without fast travel? i mean youd still be able to use the institutes teleporter to get in and out... its not like you need to use fast travel to get anywhere.

huh? nothing breaks lol.. if your talking abour your first trip in nothing breaks.. the code is just only good for one transport.. then the security measures block it out so it cant be done again. if you join the institute you get your own chip for your personal use that can be used whenever you want as long as you stay allied to the institute.

If I did the first quest with Paladin Danse and said I was interested in joining the BoS would that affect my ability to join the Railroad? I just found out about them and would much rather join them. I'm also already a general in the Minuteman according to Preston but I haven't done anything beyond receiving the flare gun.

You can be a part of all 4 factions at once.

And Preston makes you the general because he svcks and you're the only 2 minutemen when you join.

ha yeah he does. I thought joining the Institute conflicts with other factions or is there an order to joining them all?

Siding with the Brotherhood gives you access to unique weapons and armor from the quartermaster on the Prydwen.

Joining doesn't do anything to your rep with other factions, doing their main quests does. It'll make thme hate you after a couple main quests.

While you can join all 4 factions, you will eventually get to a point in their quests where you have to work against/attack the other 3 and it will permanently make the other factions hostile to you.

The only exception I've found is if you're in the Brotherhood you don't ever end up fighting the Minutemen. Not sure if the reverse is the same.
