Rex or Dogmeat?

Post » Mon May 16, 2011 11:27 pm

Inside joke or not, that's a dangerous term that you and others have been floating around. If you think the poll is incomplete or lacking options (which IMO it is, which is also why I didn't vote) Then just say so. It would help to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings of the poster's opinions.

FYI: I fully understand what you were trying to say. Stating that I do not understanding the meaning of what an inside joke is, quite frankly is highly insulting and uncalled for.

Sorry to insult you, but that too was a joke.

That isn't the point of the inside joke, that is just what we mainly use it for.

Umm...yeah. You know those little smilies you see when you post? maybe one of those might be of assistance when you are trying to get your point/joke across, kinda like this

using the term that you used in the manner in which you did doesn't take away from the fact that it is still inappropriate; joke or not. Now this thread has been dragged far enough off topic, so this part of the conversation ends here.

Sorry to drag this thread off topic.

I hate it when I have to use smileys when trying to make a subtle joke though.
So they aren't always fitting.

Oh and ontopic: Dogmeat in FO1 was a beast though, he was like the freaking Honey Badger, he sees a super mutant with a flamer, whatever, he doesn't give a [censored]!

Off Topic - Are Honey Badgers now going to be another inside joke of this forum...

And Rex i think has a better story surrounding him than Dogmeat from fallout 3. I like how he was originally legion, they should have let you take him to see caesar.

I voted Dogmeat.
He is cool.

Rex looks cool though. I don't like how his brain is on show though.
It looks a bit cruel making a cyborg dog. What if it was against his will. :S

I have not got New Vegas yet.

I will get it as soon as I can.

Yeah, I wasn't exactly crazy about the visible brain either, However, after running around with him for nearly 200 hours, I've grown used to his looks.

I guess it could be seen as cruel turning your dog into a cyber pet. If you look at it from another side, somebody cared enough about that dog to do everything in their power to save his life.

I like Dogmeat better for visuals, but Rex better for combat. Both have their advantages, I'm sure.

What I don't get is how Rex can carry stuff, I mean I picture a person hanging their clothes up on ED-E's aerials but what about Rex?

I'm not much for robots :P I like a normal dog. I think Dogmeat, but Rex had more personality or whatever. I'd like a normal dog companion with personality but of a different breed in Fallout 4. Maybe the same dog as Blood in A Boy and his Dog? I'd like that..

i wunna pitbull or boxer

K-9, Dogmeat, and all of Dogmeat's ancestors.

Rex can't sit down and stay when compared to Dogmeat's involvement in the Fallout series.

I like Rex's mark perk since it makes finding dead things I've sniped at night, and that he can do pack mule duty as well. Add the three different brains angle and it was a good combination for a companion.

Dogmeat's "find it" capabilities were awsome. Sure saved some steps there.

Tough call. I'm not all that concerned with appearances really, funtionality is my angle. For all of Dogmeat's lovability I think I'll have to go with Rex for the complexity and additional capabilities.
