[REL] Richer Textures

Texturing is awesome, just like 3d modelling its gets better all the time because you learn new tricks.. I like the new HDR function in CS5, it can bring out some intense details from pictures if used right.

These look great. This might be the first large texture replacer I get, because I agree with Psycholex that (from the screenshot's I've seen at least) stuff like Morrowind Visual Pack makes stuff look unrealisticaly sharp and bright. Before I install these though I was wondering if there is any utility that makes it easier to install and more importantly unistall stuff like this without having to remove every texture by hand. I've found this program that does it all in one but I was wondering if there was something that made it possible to individually remove and install mods, a bit like OBMM for Morrowind.

Oh right. I have Wrye Mash installed but I've never used the installers, mainly because I always used OBMM over BAIN in Oblivion. Thanks for that KF, I'll probably give this a try, although I may have to remove all my pluginless replacers and start over with Wrye Mash Installers first (MAIN?).

You can uninstall mods with Wrye Mash? I only know how to delete .esp files with it. Is there a way to fully uninstall?

Yep. :) I can't remember all the details, but it's in the documentation. Look at the "Installers" section. Mash also allows you to easily install and uninstall texture packs. I couldn't run 170+ mods without it. :)

Something that has bothered me about the game is its lack of depth owing to poor contrast in values. These textures seem to address that.

It seems the more mods I use, the bigger the FPS hit. I think I'm going to try this to see if I can't get a few FPS back. Thank you for your time and effort!

Hazzah! This looks like the mod I would make were I inclined to do a texture overhaul!
And...if I understand your method, about the same way I'd have done it too.

In any case, good to see a quality texture set that needn't be "Ultra High Super Rez".

These are now my default textures. Excellent work. It's probably my ancient computer but the only issue I have is that the ground textures render about 2=3 steps in front of my character as she walks. And it is the same if I'm using mge or not. Anyway, great work and thanks. :tops:

I'll try them out. I have this mis-and-match fetish when it gets to textures. I like to hand pick only the ones that is closer to my taste. The only disadvantage of this is that you better be sure who's who that did those textures because after, lets say, 5 months of absence you'll surely forget who did them. So keep track of the textures and give proper credit if you use them in your mod.

Grat Job! Looks pretty stunning, I mean, I can very clearly see the improvement and it gives a different feeling immediatly. I am using AOF's and Connary's replacers tho.
