A '50s style Back to the Future type thing?

Hmm. Nice idea :).

Sorry you missed it 'till now, I really must bump... sorry, I mean 'report on progress' more often :). Hope you enjoy the changes.

Progress on the side car has been slowed down rather by the discovery that the game engine really, really doesn't like moving animated statics across cell boundaries. After a few cell changes, it starts doing strange things like swapping models or giving them random rotations :shocking: . So I'm having to rework some of my models and scripts to avoid that. Progress, however slow, is still being made, though :).

Someone on FO3 Nexus asked if the hoverchair's ramming damage could be increased by bolting spikes or similar to the front. I quite like the idea, but wondered if anyone has any other thoughts, or suggestions of what could be bolted on. I suppose, for instance, that a gadget could be added that dispenses mines and holds them in place to do extra explosive damage... with a shield to protect the driver, of course.

Any other ideas?

Hi there :).

Thanks for the offer, but I've still got quite a way to go on this. Good grief, was it really last November when I said I'd help you out when I had more time?!
:embarrass: :(

I'm really sorry, as you can guess my hobby time's been in rather short supply. Drop me a PM, at least then I'll have a memory jogger that isn't buried in the bowels of this thread :).

Hope your mod's going well. Is there any information out about it? Sorry, I did look. At least I could be thinking about how drivable vehicles in would best be done :).

It's still looking good.

And sorry that I was gone for so long and didn't comment about it. Took off on an Oblivion revival and got wrapped into new hobbies and time consumers. That hoverchair with the roll cage was exactly what I was thinking, too!

Thanks. Have fun in Oblivion :)?

I've been making extremely slow progress with the hoverchair. The game engine problem is proving to be a real horror to workaround, with all sorts of weird little problems cropping up, but not being easily repeatable. I'm gradually solving them one by one, so I'll get there in the end (I will not let Bethesda and Gamebryo beat me at their own game :D!), but it'll take a while yet.

Alright, I'm new here so please excuse my ignorance... but is there any idea / news about adding vehicles (flyable vertibird, hover chair, flying car, etc) to F3 and/or FONV for the game consoles (PS3 / XBox 360)? I've seen some interesting things on youtube (as have we all, thanks for the cool mods andyw!), but it's only for PC... and walking/running around everywhere gets a little old. Of course the "fight' is mainly on the ground, but still it would break up the monotony. Maybe a DLC type thing or on a game disc? Anyone know how doable this is and whether Bethesda plans on doing any thing of the sort?

unfortunately, Bethesda has stated numerous times that modding FO3/NV of **ANY** kind is forbidden on consoles. further, discussion of console modding is also forbidden here. sorry, but that's just the way it is.

as far as DLC is concerned, the only thing of the sort will be available is what Beth/Obsidian develop for the console. nothing more, nothing less. afaik, FO3 is "done", in that no new DLC will be made, for any platform. i highly suggest getting games from Beth on PC, as this is the only platform that is freely modable.

appreciate your intrest in the mod though. :) if you ever get a chance to play it on PC, let us know what you think of it.
