Rideable boar not rideable after moving

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 7:52 pm

I'm attemping to make a rideable boar for my Ravensgate mod (Riekling mounts), but I'm hitting a wall. Basically all of the mod's files are located under a "Ravensgate" root. I haven't found any problems with doing this until now. When I place the original rideable boar (either from http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19175 or http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9084) in the Data root like normal, it works fine. However, when I move the folder from "Data/meshes/creatures/xxxx/" to "Data/meshes/ravensgate/creatures/xxxx" and change the skeleton path accordingly, the boar is there but when I try to mount it all that happens is the camera swings around like I'm going to, but then it pans right back like I just got off.

I've tried this using both of the mods above as well as making my own from the vanilla boar mesh. All three have the same issue, and I don't have any other mods loaded (I always mod in a clean environment with only the DLCs loaded). If the creature's skeleton is pointing to the right place, and the creature itself shows up in-game with no problem, what in the path could cause the mounting functionality to stop working?

Any help is appreciated - this is really bugging me.

Did you make sure in the construction set to set up the mount/dismount for it in Gameplay->Idleanimations ?

I hadn't done that, actually, so it's a step in the right direction. I set up the idles exactly like explained http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Making_Ridable_Creatures#Step_3:_Mounting.2FDismounting_-_Part_1 (using the appropriate creature names) but still no dice. One thing I noticed is that if I step several feet away and then try to mount, after the camera movement I'm right next to it like I just dismounted. So you're probably on the right track here.
