Rieklings and Snow Elves

Post » Fri Dec 17, 2010 5:24 am

ya ya, I svck at spelling. make fun of me all you want, I've delt with it my whole life, it doesn't bother me any more.

If it's been pointed out to you before that your spelling needs improvement, and you still haven't improved, thats kinda rude. I'm not asking for you to be Marriam-Webster here, but just give your posts a quick read through before clicking the "Add Reply" button, k?

Anyway, i have several refutes for your argument:
1) Falmer have been generally unseen for several hundred years, so that means they either don't exist or exist in such small numbers that they wouldn't be able to have any impact on Tamriel. As such, if a population of Falmer were to be found living in Skyrim, they would likely be met by resistant from the Mer-hating Nords, who would likely bear a grudge against them for the past, and therefore would not survive long

2) Just because the Empire may or may not fall does not mean that Imperials will all dissapear. They may decide to rename themselves to reflect their new status in the world, or they may retain it as a way to remind themselves of the past, but they won't just die off. And about them being absorbed by the other human cultures, i doubt an entire civilization could be dissolved in a matter of years just because they don't have a genetic leader right now. Besides, the Empire might not even fall

3) Even if the Empire did fall, and if the Emperial's were wiped out in some kind of mass genoside, theres no law stating they need to be replaced by a new race. And as far as the smart warrior you mentioned, Redguards could do it.

i know this is all speculation, but a lot of people say it will be in skyrim. also, like I have said in other threads (witch is obiusly a bad idea cus not many people agreeed, so feel free to disregard what I am about to say) sence the next TES will be about the fall of the empire, then maybe Bethesda should replace Impirials with something cooler in TES VI and let them blend back in with the Nords and Bretons or at the very least regress into colovian barbarians. I know that they are a well rounded race, but why do we need 3 well ronded races when we can have 2 realy cool ones aka Dunmer and Argonias. It would just be stupid if there was a race named impirials runing around without an impire, unless you called them Colovians or Nibaneze, but still. So maybe we can introduce Snow Elves in TES V and then let them be the replacement. I think that there is a race to fit evryon's playing styl in the game, except that there is not a smart warrior, so to speek. Somone that can wield weaponds and heavy armor, but at the same time be skilled in alchamy and alteration. I think snow elves are a good candidate, sence they were know not be smart. And in regards to apperance, I am guesing it would be like the elves in Hellboy 2?

just speculating :D

I, personally, don't see how the Falmer would make the new Imperials. And as for the "smart warrior", wouldn't that fall under Spellsword or Battle mage? And the Dunmer could pull those (or any class) off well.

I do, however, hope the Falmer make some appearance. I always thought they sounded pretty cool. And as far as Snow Elf to Rieklings . . . I just cannot fathom such a transition. And I'm sure there's got to be a pure blooded Falmer somewhere in Tamriel . . .

I know you're not trying to be mean or force VickyD to spell check his(/her?) entire life, but let it be. If you can understand it, even to the point of being able to correct his mistakes, then the point has gotten across.

It would just be stupid if there was a race named imperials running around without an empire,

That would be like saying the Aztecs or Romans weren't them selves because their respective Empires fell...
an Empire falling doesn't mean all its former people and citizens become mush and just vanish...

Also if you don't have mozilla and its awesome built in spell check, why not type your post into a word processing program, spell check the hell out of it and copy and paste it into a reply here; that way your get across what you're saying while people who appreciate correctly spelled words have nothing to complain about....Everybody wins!!

Note: I bolded and corrected the misspelled words for 2 reasons.
1. Everyone else was and I just wanted to be cool too

2. Well I felt like being an ass tonight.

In Morrowind people often say things like 'What is it, Cyrodiil?' if you're an Imperial. So I guess they would just be called Cyrodiils. Assuming their name will be changed in the first place.

Falmer are probably not going to make an apperance in TES:V

Two reasons:
A. The chances of Bethesda releasing a new race are slim.
B. There is a lot of other places that TES:V could take place besides wherever the Falmer/Snow Elves live (Black Marsh, Elsweyr, Valenwood etc.)

A. The Falmer have been there for a very long time already.
B. Not when Skyrim has been registered as a trademark.

I am not sure where I lean on Rieklings, but I do know where I stand with Snow Elves. I belive they are in hiding, and this isn't like my ignorent rant about Dwemers, there realy is a gaping whole in the loar and a posibilty to bring back the Snow Elves. Could they be making an apperance later on? Could the riekling actualy be the snow elves and have just been puting up a charade of unitelagence, so that the nords would not know they were the snow elves?

My own spelling isn't perfect but you spelt lore wrong?

Methinks that you should wait until your a bit more mature and knowledgeable before trying to discuss lore..

I'd love to be a Falmer!! I don't think they went into hiding, (voted for) but I think they may exist in some island somewhere. They didn't go extinct, they get blended in with the other elves, Which I believe is whydark elves are sometimes blue. Blue being falmer blood, but greener being more pure.

As for the rieklings, I'm pretty sure that they are some sort of Goblin, because no other eelves look like that. Or speak like them for that matter.

They probably never were a race, just the Skyrim version of the Direnni Altmer. They vanished because they lived directly in the path of Ysgramor's steamroller demographic of seal-clubbers.

I've always figured them as a more nomadic culture, kinda like the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sami_people. It seems more or less plausible, considering the lack of evidence of their existance (especially that there has been no cities found).
But then again, I always feel strongly for nomad cultures. Well, sometimes.

OK, I will attempt to improve my spelling. I am sorry to have annoyed all of you. And when I talked about a smart warrior, I meant in race bonus, not class you chose. I want a race that has a starting bonus of alchemy and alteration and any other intelligent skill along with heavy armor, blade, marksman, ext...

p.s. I am sorry if anything is misspelled, but spell check said there was nothing wrong with it. And I am not trying to be rude, I have tried to get better, but for some reason, I just can not.

Dark elves aren't blue becuase of the falmer.
I think they should make it a requirment to read at least basic lore books before posting here.

BTW have you ever played morrowind, becuase you do know that by playing the main quest you discover how the dark elves became blue?

it was the punishment of azura if I am not mistaken, but that is beside the point. by the way, this is a public forum and you can not dicid who can or can not post here. If I or anyone else makes an ignorant statement it is good to correct them, but telling them that they should not post isn't very kind.

there is such a thing as turning off the mic and not paying attention. Especially on the internet. Lets not be cruel to other members, and simply answer politely. But sense you didn't answer him; I'll answer.
Relickylias, the dunmer were cursed with red eyes and ashen skin by azura.

I think it was supposed to be some sort of symbolism. The whole, "now when you see your people you will see your folly" or some such.

" Then Azura came forth anyway and cursed the Tribunal for their foul deeds. She told them that she would use her powers over dusk and dawn to make sure Nerevar would come back and make things right again. But the Tribunal laughed at her and said that soon they would be gods themselves and that the Chimer people would forget their old ways of worship. And Azura knew this would be true and that it would take a long time before her power might bring Nerevar back. "What you have done here today is foul beyond measure and you will grow to regret it, for the lives of gods are not what mortals think and matters that weigh only years to mortals weigh on gods forever." And so that they might know forever their wicked deeds Azura changed the Chimer into Dunmer, and their skin turned ashen and their eyes into fire. "Let this mark remind you of your true selves who, like ghouls, fed on the nobility, heroism, and trust of their king." "

"The Daedra Azura (the Goddess of Dusk and Dawn and an ally of Nerevar), became angry and punished the entire Chimer race for letting such a disgrace happen and turned their skin as black as the Ashlands and their eyes as red as their hearts."

Just to clear things up (incase you weren't already aware [and by you I mean everyone who reads this]).

That was Sotha Sil's reaction, though I'd imagine the women had a rather different reaction.

I believe that the Falmer are pretty much extinct. I do believe that they have bred with other elves and that they have spread their genes around a bit. Are there any true Falmer left? I'd say probably not. Maybe a dozen in hiding. Other than that, they are gone.
