Rielys Rangers Or Talon Company ?

Post » Thu Jul 08, 2010 5:43 am

Reily's Ranger's without a doubt. I go around discovering places, and since they gave me a Geomapper Module, when I return to them, they download the data. They give me loads of caps and XP for this. This business relationship is priceless. Talon Co. are worthless, just an annoyance. I dispatch them with ease and their loot is worth chump change.

As a man once said...
"TALON COMPANY!"

I think they are really cool, but they do try to kill me. On my PC I usually play with the FWE mod and it makes Talon Company look even more badass.

OK... I give some beggars water, I find a violin for a sweet old lady to entertain the peoiple of the wasteland, and I deliver an orphaned child safely to his remaining family in Rivet City... and those Talon FREAKS try to kill me for doing these things. The only use they have is providing me with weapons to sell and their own crummy combat armor to repair my lovely Ranger Battle Armor.

And besides, you all know that I think Brick rocks.

Talon Company puts its men on the line every day. They fight for freedom in DC, trying to get rid of the Super Mutants. They're mercs and they take contracts and do it because it's their job. It gets them paid and fed, and that's all they need to get energy to do more fighting. Those guys are the real heroes.

Oh, they both give me such good things in their own way.

The Rangers gave me this great Battle Armor and a bunch of money for just running around getting into things, and the Talons give me a steady supply of repair parts for my awesome Battle Armor and my guns, plus booze, drugs and ciggies to sell for even more money.

Although the Talons have the best flag in the game, hands down. "TALON COMPANY!!"

Talon Company are set as evil and very aggressive. They are friendly only to themselves and "neutral" to everyone else, but for them neutral means "kill everyone".

They'll attack and kill any innocent people they come across. Reports are they were hired specifically to create chaos in the wasteland.

They're Raiders with better pay and a dental plan.

..."Lisa needs braces.." "Dental plan!"

Sorry, couldn't resist.
But no. Where did you find info that they were hired to do all that? And even if they were, it's a contract and it's their job. Let's see you do what they do, go out and try to get rid of Super Mutants in downtown, D.C.

Dude....that's all the Lone Wanderer does.

The information is from the Prima Guide apparently, found on the Fallout 3 Wiki.

However, them being set up to attack anyone and everyone.....that's straight from the GECK.

They're evil. They're murderous. They are not admirable in any way. They're not even good at their job.

Well Talon is evil no doubt so being an ultra high karma dude, I cant like them too much...however, Reilly's "Cringers" are an impotent bunch who cant do much right and can no longer even fend for themselves....they'd all be dead and their outfit would be kaput if not for the Lone Wanderer.....

To say the Rangers are bad at their job would be a huge mistake. They wouldn't have made it so far if it were not for the skill possesed by each member.

But Reilly made a bad decision, and it was a big one. This makes her seem like a terrible leader, despite her previous victories. Really, the rest of her team did very well to keep themselves alive on the roof considering what they had to work with.

There’s no doubt that Talon Co is the “badest” of the two. Which is exactly why I’d join the Rangers and go finger collecting. Hunting down each and every member of a battle-hardened merc army that’s scattered about the waste seems like great fun.

No, dude, they really do svck. If I try escorting them without assisting in any way they either end up all dead or most dead and run away. They don't even do their job. They scam the Lone Wanderer into doing their job and repay in chump-change. All they do is smoke, drink, sit around in their old, unventilated bunker and smell bad. They do nothing to be a significant force in the Wasteland.

If you do a good job in helping them they will later tell you that they are once again doing search and destroy missions. Of Super Mutants, not innocent victims.

Plus, one of them will cross the entire wasteland just to give you a Mini-Nuke because they are good folks.

Talon Company Mercs svck so badly I have no trouble believing the story of Brick giving them a beatdown.

Not necessarily even a beatdown if it's her stupid block of a gun.
I don't think they would make it if there were facing the entire Talon Company army.

Don't take game mechanics into account -- it goes against the point.

The Rangers do in fact complete missions; just ask them after you've finished the quest. You don't see it in game, but they still do it. Well, you do actually see Donovan, but that's a random encounter.

Their health is low, true, but that's Bethesda's fault. If you think about all they've been through, it'd make sense for it to be higher. And they're not really meant to be a 'force'. Their a private group who take on contracts for profit, not to have a huge effect on the wasteland.

Think about it: they survived on a roof with hardly any supplies and low morale whilst fending off super mutants. By the time the LW gets to them, they've been doing that for quite a while.

Neither of them seems to be all that awesome at fighting, to be sure.

Of course, if the LW weren't one of the most gifted killers in the waste, the game wouldn't be fun for very long.

BONK BUTCHER ALL DAY!!
LMAOOOO

Hahaha.. That's what I would call.. Hmm.. Well, I'd say kind of [censored]ish, but she's only doing it with one guy. Hm. Well, actually, there's no private place to do it. All the beds are in one room, so she's pretty much putting on a show for the whole crew. Post-Apocalyptic pormstar

Reilly's Rangers. Mainly because Talon Co. keeps sending hitsquads after me, their last attack sent six of their guys after me. Six.
