rifleman and commando perks

Yeah, looks like a no brainer this time around to get both since they cover nearly all the powerful ranged weaponry both. Unlike ballistic firearms vs energy weapons choice, this is a more definitive division in gameplay.

Gunslinger and Rifleman for me. I like to take things one shot at a time.

I'll be maxing out *all* of the combat skill perks on my Doomgal, though. So. Many. Guns.

Little leaguer looks to be the melee equivalent to the gun perks. And only strength 2 is needed... which is crazy for the powerhouse swings you can do.

Well, you can only pulk off those powerhouse swings with the last rank of Big Lwagues. Which is only unlocked at level 42, and requires the four ranks prior. :P

For the highest level yes, but the lower ranks are probably good as well. A melee centered character wouldn't even need to focus on strength with the little leaguer perk... especially if they had all 10 ranks of the barbarian perk as well.

Barbarian is only for critical damage, and I think Strength has an effect on melee damage too beyond just the perk. And S9 and S10 look like pretty melee-centric perks as well - but point taken. I like it that way, though - a Ninja type of character would focus more on Agility than Strength, but they'd still be considerably talented with melee.

Hopefully the strategy guide has a list of effected weapons for said perks. I'm also wondering if energy weapons have their own perks that apply. Where maybe Commando is just for regular automatic fire arms.

When someone gets their hands on the GECK for PC, they can probably confirm what weapons apply to the perk. I was able to do that with Fallout New Vegas Edit on my pc, to see what weapons were under the Grunt and Cowboy perks. I'm getting Fallout 4 on xbox one though, so i'll be going in blind as well.
