Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 1:19 pm

Hello Friends,

I am deciding to build my PC and play skyrim. Now I currently have the following LOW rig pc:

1) Intel Core 2 Duo (2.13Ghz)
2) 2GB DDR2 RAM
3) Nvidia 9600GSO 786MB and 192 Bit

Guys I want to play skyrim on High settings (atleast equivalent to Xbox360 or more). What additional requirements I need. Please comment. PC rulz!

Well if you want 360 graphics, then your set at *low*.

Pushing it further I would say get a decent graphic card such as a Nvidia 460 1gb version. As for your cpu/ram, more than likely to upgrade that you will need a new motherboard though judging that you have 2gb of ram I'm assuming you have a 32bit OS so upgrade that to 4gig if possible, and I'd check but I would assume your motherboard can only take DDR2 ram.

Since what you have is so dated also you can refer to this list, it's updated monthly (keep in mind though HDD's have inflated massively since the last update) and if you get one around the *good* and up, your set.

I can run everything on maximum on my rig (see sig) but, it's still demanding on that in some areas.

Looking it over you should be getting a constant 60fps in that setup, unless AMD GPU's are still having issues.

I think it was the fact I had 11.9 catalyst drivers, since I went to 11.10 it seemed to fix some of the issues.

What an awesome awesome game guys! Specially when I switched from PS3 to PC:

1) Intel Core 2 Duo (2.13Ghz)
2) 2GB DDR2 RAM
3) Nvidia 9600GSO 786MB and 192 Bit

Ok guys the above works on Medium Settings which 1080p/Medium Details. FPS drops low/vlow and water is a bit low quality upfront. Guys I am so pumped I want a High Configuration without changing motherboard.

1) GTX 260 896MB
2) 4MB DDR2 Ram
3) Cor 2 Duo 2.13 x 2

Would that Config work smooth on High Settings?

The Core 2 Duo is a very capable CPU still. Not many games take advantage of 2 core, much less 4 cores. If you are going to build a PC that is going to take you through Skyrim and beyond. I would recommned a Z68 chipset motherboard. I have a P8Z68V by Asus, I like it a lot, I would go with a i5 2500k CPU it is hands down the best bang for your buck CPU out there right now, DDR3 RAM is cheap right now too. I have 16gb of RAM I would suggest no less than 8gb. As far a video cards I'm waiting until christmas for the 500 series to price drop. You could pick up a 275GTX or 375GX for pretty cheap right now.
