I am unable to retrieve the Ring of The Beast playing the Dawnguard DLC. My description includes spoilers.

I was able to get the first ring, the Ring of Erudite from Lost Valley Redoubt. Not so for the second ring, the Ring of The Beast from Volskygge. After killing the various enemies throughout Volskygge I get to the back door. After I go outside I go around to the left to the platform where there is a word of power. The icon indicating where the ring is supposed to be is located in an odd spot. Facing the wall, the icon is on the far right a little ahead of the right-hand corner of the platform near to where a table is located on it, and it is about 10 feet in the air above the snowy ground that is angled in that area. I have done everything to try to find the ring here. I am unable to find it. Zeroing in on the icon does not reveal it, nor looking on the ground below it or anywhere on the platform, including on the table nearby or in the sarcophagus before the wall. As a result I can only get one of the two rings at present and I am unable to complete this quest, or any others dependent on completing this one. I did try reloading a prior gamesave and playing through to this point again to no avail.

Now, I had cleared out Volskygge quite some time ago, long before the Dawnguard DLC. I am sure there was a dragon priest (i.e., Volsung) here that I fought and killed. He may have died in the spot somewhat targeted by the icon, but there is no dead body or ashes, etc here either. I am stuck, stumped and bamboozled.

I play on an Xbox 360. Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

i have seen alot of people having this bug, when i did the quest i didnt have to kill anything for it i was pretty sure it was in the "end cave" chest. Not sure if this helps or not but better than nothing.

I'm also fairly certain it was in a chest at the end of the dungeon.

If you are referring to the chest on the small platform near the throne where you fight the last Draugr Death Lord before going outside, then NO... the ring is not there. If by "end cave" you are referring to a different location, then I don't know where that is and neither the icon nor clairvoyance is any help. In fact Clarivoyance directs me outside when I am in Volskygge and directs me back inside when I go outside (near the Word wall). Help... anyone.

The vampiric grip spell grabs the enemy but they dont take damage from choking is this a bug or am i doing something wrong???
