RIP David Bowie
Same here! This came as a shock!
I always loved his sweet Baritone voice in a world of screaming tenors. I will miss him greatly
Saw him in Boston Garden in '74, at least I have a few friends who tell me I was there......some of the details are , ummm...., vague.
Just listening to one of my favorites - "Rebel, Rebel". The lyrics would be contemporary if it were released today. The fact that they're from a 42 year old song is pretty amazing.

I've been wondering if I should...
Here is David and Mick in the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQDG6kjMgoA that possibly captured the 80's so well
RIP
strange how Bowie and Lemmy both died from cancer around the same age and time.
Was it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDkp7GysvbY? That would make for an awesome wedding moment
I was pretty shocked to see the news about David Bowie, my initial reaction was disbelief and skepticism. He had personal values, that a significant amount of people lacked. Keeping the cancer a secret for the sake of his families privacy, and unlike some individuals who just care about money, David Bowie had a true passion for creativity, as proven by the fact even when being critically ill with cancer he was still releasing new songs.
Producing two final songs, his passion for creativity was so great that even one of the worst diseases in the world wasn't enough to destroy his passion for what he did in life, and he still wanted to continue making more music, even when he knew he didn't have much longer to live, as he released two final songs. Immortalizing part of himself in a sense in every song.
RIP David Bowie and may all your songs, all your creative inventions live on forever.
And now Alan Rickman (69, of cancer). This isn't the greatest start to a new year.
RIP to all of them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kszLwBaC4Sw is such an amazing thing. He gives credit to his influences, pokes fun at himself, and shows his humanity- knowing that this is his dirge. Class act, all the way.
