RIP Gary Moore

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 3:45 am

One of the greatest blues/rock guitarists of the last 30 years died in Spain last night at the age of 58. I was just wondering, is anyone else on these forums familiar with the work of Gary Moore? Here he is doing one of my favourite songs live:

Amazing stuff.

You'll be missed, Gary.

Sad indeed. The man was truly a blues genius.

Some things I didn't know about him until today: He played for Thin Lizzie, collaborated with B.B. King, The Traveling Wilburys, and he grew up in Belfast during the 60's.

Eh, he played http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0nKJFVVoYM&feature=related - didn't know that, love the tune. Beat that !

They should take the souls of twenty American Idols contestants each year to keep guys like that alive. I'd call that a fair bargain.
