RIP Pyromaniac

Post » Fri Mar 18, 2016 5:59 am

I LOVED FALLOUT 4! It was a great game! But one small problem. I originally wanted to make a Flame-Based Character. I loved the Pyromaniac Perk in Fallout 3 and Vegas! However, as I wolf the Perk chart, I come to a saddening conclusion: Pyromaniac wasn't a PERK!!!! I almost cried. I noticed all the cool fire weapons (Shishkebab, Flamer, Junk Jet w/ Flame for ex.), but I have to take Melee, Heavy Weapons, and even Rifleman to make them effective enough.

I wish Pyromaniac could be brought back to life... RIP PYROMANIAC!

Really depends. The current flame weapons are a joke. With ammo weight incoming.. I shudder to think how many canisters I'd need to murder anything.

With how weak the fire weapons are yeah this could be a good thing. Might affect the laser gun fire related mods too or even legendaries? They would have to be careful not to make it too OP, and maybe combine it so that it reduces your fire damage taken, but there are armor mods for that. ( but seriously any build can be OP as it is )

I literally only use the flamer in castle for the eggs lol

This would probably fix the weak shishkabab damage and make the flamer good. ( you know, like the the forged and trying to roast you at low levels lol )

I agree. I also was very disappointed when I found out that there was no pyromaniac perk. :(

It used to be really fun to run around the wasteland with my Shishkebab (the old style model that you had to gather parts and schematics and make it). *pardon me whilst I wax nostalgic* So if it is at all possible to bring it back, my vote is YES!

It would have made a great Astoundingly Awesome Tale, or as the last rank of Demolition Expert. Works on Incendiary legendaries, the flamer, the shishkebab, and energy weapons modded for flame damage.

You mean that perk that always affected so few weapons you could count them on a mutilated hand?

You got to blame the fans for that, the forums are always requesting for nerfing anything that is remotely powerful and simply Bethesda listens to their fans.

It makes me sad to see how this pole is going. So many people voting against it, I mean. Probably Bethesda will see this now and think they are glad they took it out. Sad, sad to see ....

Voted yes, because specialization is good. Maybe not so much in a game where you can do everything and there is little cost associated with builds...but still a good thing. I miss my Shotgun Surgeon and And Stay Back! perks...and that whole way of doing business. You know, maybe even have some incentive to re-roll.

I know we have everything lumped into weapon pools now, but Heavy Gunner at least regulates Flamer leveling...but at the same time, I do understand it is not the specialization type mechanic you're looking for.

I mean with the castration of the rpg system to bring a broader audience they really are hurting their actual loyal fan base. It's why they did so many gimmicks. fallout pipboy app, fallout shelter, the pipboy edition, and the ultimate collection in a mini nuke. it's all a sacrifice in the soul of the game for more soulless caps.

But they still made an addictive game... I may be part of the problem. a severely annoyed/angry part of the problem, but part no less.

I think the forged took it.

As in "away".

They literally stole it from the perk tree while the game was installing. Now they hoard it, use it themselves, and don't share.

I agree with the op(that rhymed) but Bethesda have already printed the pretty perk tree posters so I can't see them adding any new perks. Mods maybe?

The same thing goes to Minigun and Super Mutants. When they use it on you, they'll shred your butt like as fast as putting tomato into juicer. But when you use it, it's nothing.

Meh, flame weapons are low powered anyways, and not given much thought anyways. They would need to step it up somehow to make it viable (like enemies panicking from fear of fire, better damage, debuffs to enemies etc. that sort of thing) And it is only really useful against low-armoured enemies in which case, a couple of 10mm's does a better job. It is useless against robotic enemies, have heigh weight compared to the damage it does, and it leaves you most of the time in the open. Overall, it is a worthless weapon as it stands. Just my opinion on the matter :)

Staggering is what is keeping the Shufflers off of Your character.

Toughest Decision I have made in the Game was keeping Peeper Alive at the Atom Cats Garage, or keep a Staggering Shiskabob :unsure2:

Ye'h. Fire weapons are pretty weak in Fallout 4... They need some work on. (Which is funny, one of the most powerful weapons in Fallout 3 was a fire-based weapon and with the Pyromaniac perk, man... It destroys).

~Edit~

Bethesda could just update the perk chart and make it so more than one perk can be on the same location, thusly allowing them to add in A LOT more perks to the game, this including Pyromaniac.

I would love to see the chart more layered myself.

Wow guys, I didn't see this coming!

Thanks for supporting! I know that some people think the perk is OP, but look at Perks like Gunslinger! It makes Pistols do almost 100 Damage per Shot! If the pistol is Fast, It SHREDS! If you think Pyromaniac is OP, rethink.

Can't see why they can't add an extra row or two. Just expand the perk selection at certain SPECIAL levels.

Would love to see this, maybe add a feature where the fire is more likely to panic an enemy hit by it as you raise the level in addition to increasing its damage output.
