[WIPz] Robe of the Crow's Wrath

Post » Sun Apr 18, 2010 8:52 pm

Hey there,

This is a small ( very small ) mod that I made for myself and was wondering if anyone else would be intrested in it. If so I will upload to PES.
Essentially is a Robe that is designed to be the oposite of The Robe Of Drakes Pride, for necromancers/evil witches etc.
I wanted it to be similar to drakes pride but at the same time not to be, so something similar.
The Robe is the one from thehttp://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=778 mod by Cerebrecl.

I have now decided to make my own Robe:

What do you think?

The Stats are as follows (all Constant effect):

Fortify Intelligence 10 pts on Self
Resist Magicka 25 pts on Self
Spell Absorb 25% on Self

The Robe of Crow's Warth is now on PES: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8472

Also made purple one

I like the original robe and the armor but they are a bit old and look really low ress compared with something from hurdy gurdy, if you do a newer version I would suggest you could also update the textures for the other stuff too, and the armor could use an update too

I'm with Cabron on this, it is a great robe, but is out of style. Personally I love the bonelord robe mod, but it has the same problem.

+1

Still, if you want to do a necromancy/necromancer quest, please avoid using Sorkvild - it seems that half of the necromancy mods use him/his tower...

I think that there are much better robes out there that you could use.

So you've added an effect and placed it somewhere?
Hmmm... I'd add a unique quest or dungeon crawl or something else for it first before release, otherwise I wouldn't dl it personally.

I agree with the others, there are better robes out there. You seem pretty good yourself MA, looking at your recent armor release, why don't you try your hand at one?

The Black robe mod is pretty outdated, you'd be better off creating a new robe instead. Oh and I'd suggest not using Sorkvlid, as others have said, since conflicts will arise.

Perhaps the nrecomancer that has the Vampires of Vaardenfell Volume 2 right there near Dagon Fel? He′s not tied to any quest and he′s such a pushover he could use an enchanted robe to help him out

Yeah, that is Sorkvlid. As stated before, it wouldn't be a good idea to place the robe on him. Hmm, maybe you could just place it in the tower? Like perhaps in a unique chest.

Nope, its a necromancer lair called Vas north west of dagon fell, you have to access it through a ancecstral tomb nearby, the book he has is part of the vampire cure quest but he is not involved in any way. I actually snuck behind him and stole the book first and then decided to whack him. Maybe a nice robe and skull mask could have give me more incentive :)

Huh, never knew that. Seeing as it's pretty obscure, I guess it would be alright to put the robe on him.

Well Listening to you lot on here I had a stab at making my own robe:

http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w152/Wolfsbane_89/NifSkope2010-05-2723-16-12-91.jpg

What do you think?

Its my first Robe texture...possibly my first ever 100% own texture.

Best of all its Better body thanks to Nivlov's robe meshes :hehe:

Edit: Requested to have the title changed to a [WIPz] thread.

Wow, I love it! It looks both Creepy and Regal :) However, I think you should tone down the red glow just a bit, since it looks like it's Daedric :P

well I am not sure about the glow.... but I too though there was too much red so I cahnged the front a bit: http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w152/Wolfsbane_89/NifSkope2010-05-2723-53-46-50.jpg - So now the bottom of the front matches the top ( with the black cloth strip going through it.

Looks great, just one suggestion, could you try some pics where the golden parts are actually silvery or maybe a dark purple almost black

I tried silver but it looked terrible! More like a grey than a gold. A dark purple might look good...but I've already submitted the mod to PES XD
Though I could try a purple anyway and see how it looks.

Oh and Theres also a female version - Check first post for screenies.

Well I like the Red/Black robe, So thats going to be the Robe of Crow's Wrath.

BUT howabout just using it as a bog standard robe that can be brought in a shop as well? Along with a few varities? I ask because I just tweaked the colours alittle bit and well, I like the outcome:

You have some good necro ideas.

That wizards robe does look really good. A shop might be to much. Maybe just a stall in Dagon Fel.

hmm Dagon Fel seems to get all the attention for clothing mods... and its a small place. I was thinking perhaps a stall in Mournhold? I also have wizard hats for the two robes...

I will focus on the Crow's Wrath robe for now, then think about the stall.
