Robes over armor

Frankly, I don't care if you have to cause clipping issues--I'll think of something imaginative to discredit that--just bring back the ability to place Robes over armor, so I can create my Spellswords and Battlemages. If you have the money and ability, you should be able to have an exquisite robe, shirt, and pants all on with armor.

It's one of the things that I missed from Morrowind when I was playing Oblivion as well. I think having robes over armour and clothing beneath armour allows for much more customization, as well as a lot more enchantment. The large amount of extra enchantment could become a little overpowering, though.

Yes, I'd agree that they should work on allowing the player to wear clothing under and over armor. But they'll need to keep it balanced on account of enchanting.

edit: indalus beat me to that last part.

I was disappointed that Oblivion didn't have this, I want it come back in Skyrim.

This is where I disagree on it being overpowered. With my Morrowind character, by the time I could perform CE enchantments with an exquisite robe and good armor, I was already relatively strong. I still needed to do a lot of work to achieve it, and have a good bit of money or skill. Further, should it be as people always said with fast traveling in Oblivion, if you believe it's cheap, don't use it? There's a fine line between numbing the game and balancing it -- that's all I'm worried about.

Yeah, I liked layering clothing and armor in Morrowind.

In Oblivion I used the Savior's Hide, but I hated not being able to wear a shirt underneath it to cover my arms.

I want to be able to put a robe on over my armor. They should have done this in Oblivion.

This is definitely needed, just like wearing clothes under armour.

Definitely missed and definitely needs a return. Plus it makes since in the climate. At least certain parts of Skyrim, because layers in snowy weather just makes sense. Like creating air pockets between the layers to act as insulation and maintain more heat. :)

In New Vegas the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/NCR_Ranger_combat_armor looked beautiful, and had armor under a coat. I want to be able to have the same look in Skyrim, but able to switch out the armor and robe as I please. I want to be able to button and unbutton my robe, and even have clothing under my armor. I like customizing my appearance Bethesda, so please, PLEASE give us more!

In my honest opinion about 90% of the stuff from Morrowind should be in Oblivion and for SURE in Skyrim!
