Robes

I hope robes get some sort of advantage in skyrim, in oblivion they where nearly pointless. First because it was only a singal article of clothing as opposed to shirt pants so it has less enchanting power over all. And after you master an armor set your spell effectiveness is 95% so you don't lose out much. I think robes should be given the abliry to have better enchantments to offset basic clothing and armor.

I dont care how weak robes are... I just want them to look cool. Like a White Robe Set. Or robes that you could have symbols woven onto, and incals attached.

In Morrowind and Oblivion, I always raised my heavy/ light armor skills early and just ran around in heavy armor casting spells and slashing things with swords. i found robes largely useless unless I REALLY wanted to handicap myself and roleplay hardcoe as a mage. I always wished that robes and clothing in general gave at least a couple defense points. I personally feel like either armor should be nerfed (just a bit) or robes and clothing should be beefed up with just a couple defense points

I'd like to see a meaningful trade off for casters wearing armour. There should be a reason for a caster to want regular old clothes or robes over full plate, be it more damage, lower magicka costs, faster casting, or whatever Besthesda can come up with. And it shouldn't be able to be overcome by levelling up a skill. The benefit to clothing should always be there.

I like this idea, maybe even a combination of the above. With all mages in the game sporting robes it like they know somthing we don't lol
