Rogue Mage slaughtering and stealing

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:21 am

I am wondering - its been a while since I played, and I never do the story line - I am wondering if:

1) is it possible to slaughter a whole guild? - the mages guild for example
2) steal some ones home... (im more interested in this one)

You can kill several people in the guild, but there are some that are quest-related and are set to Essential, so you can only knock them out. It wouldn't be entirely realistic to kill an entire guild anyway.

You can sort of steal someone's house, but all of the containers inside aren't safe, so they will reset the items inside, meaning anything you put in a container will be lost. The bed (and sometimes other furniture) will not belong to you, so you won't be able to use it. But you will be able to come and go as you please and drop your loot inside the house without any problems.

But, of course, if you're on PC, there are ways to solve both of those problems.

I was like but I killed two inns, a small town (didn't have any guards, just two houses, 5 people and a inn)

eh, most the stuff I dropped off was junk

What I want to know is how the guards in a city know I killed a whole inn of people

The Black Horse Courier. I dont know how they'd get their news without it.

Yeah, that's one of the biggest complaints people have with the game. Certain NPCs with high Responsibility are able to report a crime even when no guards are nearby. I like to think that there just happened to be a patrolling guard nearby who heard the screams.

It is a different world with different rules. The same kind of rules that allow you to shoot fire from your fingertips. Live it, learn it, love it (or mod it to your liking). :foodndrink:

Yes, the guards in Anvil will know what you did in Cheydinhal. When thinking about it, it′s almost like... oh no..

My friend told me there is a Gray Cowl that allows you to kills, plunder, [censored] (I wish), a steal with no consequences.

- One thing - is there a mod to keep blood around, When I slaughter some one and their blood is all over the wall i like to see it there for longer then 10 seconds

It would also be nice (because killing everything gets boring) if these towns repopulated them selves...>_<

If you wear the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal, all crimes you commit will be on the head of the Gray Fox, not of the player. So if you put on the Cowl, commit a crime, then escape detection and take the Cowl off, no one will know it was you.

I don't know about the blood mod. You might try asking in the Oblivion Mods section or searching around sites like TESnexus.

Does any one have any tips or ideas to make my slaughtering and stealing more enjoyable?

I'm not sure there's too much you can do to make your victims enjoy it even more than I'm sure they already do.

I dunno about a mod but I wanted the same thing - in your oblivion.ini file (the one in My Documents if you Windowd user), find "fDecalLifetime", or something similar (sorry, its late and im half asleep). It will be set at 10 (ten seconds, like you said). Set it to say 50. Blood now lasts about a minute (real time). I think 60 secs is the max...your sword will get REALLY bloody now and stains hang around for much longer. :)
