I think way too many people want extreme customization options. So much that I'm worried about what will be left for Bethesda to make. Afterall, it's their game. :)

I like extreme customization, but Beth already provides it, for Skyrim its called the creation kit.

I'd prefer if Bethesda just made the game exactly the way I want it -- then I wouldn't have to toggle anything... of course that's not gonna happen, so bring on the in-depth customization menu :)

Optional hardcoe mode? As I've said in every other topic asking this: yes, please.

And being able to tailor it via a menu is a great idea, imo.

That's why some of us have a low-to-middling PC. Add a passable graphics card sometime down the road for under $100 and you've got a budget game machine that will run OB at decent but not "maximum" settings. Granted, it still costs more than the typical console, but probably less than double, and I can upgrade the main board and processor in another year or three for less than buying whatever new console replaces the current model. If you buy one of those pre-configured "name brand" PCs (Dell, HP, etc.), then you're pretty limited as to upgrades, because "standard" replacement boards, power supplies, and other major components won't fit the custom case.

Anyway, I'd much prefer a couple of options to a "fixed" hardcoe mode, or to no choices at all. Bethesda has done options before: "Best Attack" checkbox in MW, for instance.

And how would HC be usefull?

In TES the arrows have a weight.... but eating and drinking ? I mean, really? In TES, there's food EVERY WHERE, and drinks EVERY WHERE.

(I speak spanish, sorry for any wrong spelling  )

I really liked the idea in FO new vegas. The hardcoe mode added something to the game that was missing. But there were many bad things with it. I remember that sleeping did nothing to you. Beds were useless, sleeping would not heal you. Come on..

I wanted to change this. So I downloaded a mod and fixed it. After a couple of hours playing I noticed some other things (that I can't remember right now) and kept downloading mods until the game was realistic and balaced enough. Then I started enjoying the game.

The menu you propose here, is a good idea I think.

You would select a preset made by Bethesda, and if something bothers you, you would go to this menu, and change it.

I don't like crosshais... I like the compass... I like fast traveling (sometimes i'm lazy or in a hurry)... many people won't like the same things, and not everyone is good at scripting to change these things using the creation kit.

well i'd especially like the fast travel option, but if it was off i'd like a system similar to Morrowind implemented.

I think the answer is that people need more of a thing known as "imagination."
