Role playing idea

Post » Tue Jul 12, 2011 6:49 pm

I have put well over 500 hours into Oblivion since it came out. Last summer I picked the game back up again and created what some, including myself, would call a mystic archer. I did a number of quests and got her (Bosmer) to become quite powerful. However, as time faded I quit playing. But here I am yet again, another summer and I find myself drawn to Oblivion once more. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it will definitely be the last time I really play it since Skyrim is coming out in November.

I've read many different role playing stories on these forums and I have to say, many of you guys (and girls) on this forum are quite creative. I've taken many of the aspects of role playing that you all employ and put them into my game/character. I play on the 360 so I do not have the luxury of mods to make role playing simpler, but it still works for me. Here's my idea for my character and how I see her playing out. I just need a little help.

I am almost done with the Thieves Guild quest line and soon I will receive a piece of armor/clothing (trying not to spoil anything although I don't know if that's possible at this point), that will allow me to commit crimes when I have it on but maintain my flawless bounty without it. In other words, it will be my master disguise.

I want to use this kind of as a secret/super "villain".

What I'm basically looking to do is go around killing those that I determine "deserve" to die because of some bad deeds. In other words, taking the law into my own hands. I would do this with my disguise, of course. And again, I assume most on here know what disguise I am referring to, but not trying to spoil it (the Gray ______).

Here's my question and what I need some help with. I would like to sole trap my "victims" which is not a problem. The problem is that I would like to display these sole traps as "trophies" in a secret location but I have no way of identifying them once they are trapped. Being as how I'm not on the PC and can't mod anything, I don't really know how to do this. In other words, how would I "label" a soul trap to know who's it is? Anyone have any ideas of how I might do this?

Thanks

I know right. Why does everybody assume we are on the PC? I have it for the XBOX, and I am very used to the controls.

Any way to label soul gems that you guys know of? The only thing I can think of is to get a cheap ring, enchant it with their name and leave it right next to it. Pretty complicated. I wish there was some way to label them.

Beth took the labeling of souls out for Oblivion. A step backwards as far as I am concerned since I enjoyed collecting the various types of souls in Morrowind.

People here do not assume everyone is on PC. However, this is the official Beth forum online and people are using PCs to access it. Also, as Todd himself pointed out, the PC is where Beth's games really "live" due to the very active and creative modding community. It's a safe bet that people playing a Beth game on PC are all playing a different game despite having the same foundation.

I would suggest something similar. Although instead of buying anything, just keep something of the person. Like their shirt. That way you can enchant the shirt, with their name and place the soul gem on it. It would personalize things with it's own little display.
