Unfortunately for her, Stanley Behemotheon will already have taken it. And like all who challenge his superior claim, the Ghouleesi will bend the knee or be destroyed.

why would you even want the glowing sea? horrible place.. yuck... building up a nice town with proper supplies and followers is much better than a nuclear wasteland devoid of anything but deathclaws and ghouls.

It's not a question of want. It's Stanley's by right.

Anyway, I'm now definitely going to make a Stanley Behemotheon character. Thanks, Guard. You've inspired me.

Just pretend your wife is a crazy obsessive lunatic and your kid will grow up to be a whiny spoiled brat who still briastfeeds at 10

Hopefully Nora isn't an annoying religious fanatic with a mustache in your game :D

Hmm...

Most likely Cannibal redneck woman. Who shoots you, eats you and lastly loot every bottlecap she can find.

Or Lunatic axe killer housewife who likes to see world burn.

On the male side. A ghost of the past. Empty husk of forgotten times. Man who once had name. Now only thing he has is lunchbox and 12 gauge shotgun.

My character is called Benjamin Greene, pre war survivor and highly educated student of st matts university of massachussets. While having a bad time before the great war Benjamin barely managed to survive the prejudice of the american students and the bigotry he had to go through while being the only jewish student in a catholic university. But even so he managed to get himself and his wife a spot in vault 111. Because of his religion he was chosen to be cryogenically frozen and to be awoken 200 years later. And his mission continues to rule the world and convert everyone yet alive and intelligent enough to judaism.

http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0018604/?ref_=tt_cl_t1 would be a pretty great killer housewife to base a build on.

Colt Rapids.

A veteran of the Sino-American war, served from 2071 to 2076. Served with the 3rd Armored Division as a mechanized infantryman in the 48th dragoons, one of the last battalions to rely on APC's rather than power armored units. Was deployed to Anchorage, Alaska from 2071 to 2074. Relocated with the rest of the third armored division to Yangtze, China as well a part of a task force in the Gobi Desert. Was honorably discharged in June of 2076. Received the Bronze star medal for leading his platoon after their officer was killed in action through hostile territory destroying one vehicle depots and saving the lives of 33 U.S. Soldiers. Received the expert infantryman badge. Has a three full rows of ribbons accounting for his operations and service. Received power armor training and was up for Ranger school but Colt rapids refused to participate. He was a Staff Sergeant when he left the army.

Met his wife while in the service. She was part of the 2nd Infantry Division and had saved him from a burning apc in Yangtze, China. There units were stationed relatively close to each other and when given leave they would both meet up in the local towns for fraternization. The relationship had been well sparked and in late 2075 they were married and two weeks later the baby was announced.

He worked for the Nuka-Cola company after his service as a manager for the short time he worked there. He or his wife didn't have many friends, they had a few close ones which they kept in contact with but mostly they just kept to themselves.

My character Jimmy T in FNV was a weasel, a rat, a skinny little [censored] who only wanted to feel important and so pursued a courier job for excitement and to prove himself, when he got shot in the head he got scared [censored]less and wanted out. But as he travelled alone in the wasteland, being forced to kill over and over again he started to lose it. And once he came across the Legion he got a chance to prove himself. A way to be important. The only thing he's been good at is killing so he took that up for the Legion and killed all of Forlorn Hope. After he got a gladius from Dead Sea he knew what he wanted from others. Fear.

I can't play anything close to Jimmy T in Fallout 4 though. The male PC simply doesn't fit Jimmy T's design. The voice, the backstory with a wife and son, the nice life in the suburbs.

So who am I going to roleplay? Someone from the suburbs that got married and had a child. That is forced on me in each playthrough. I can't avoid it. I can of course allow my character some character development but I can't decide who my character is at the start of the game as it is already decided for me. And even if I choose to develop my character slowly to suit a role I want I still have to abide by the voice of my character. I can't play as someone in their 60's. I can't play as a young'un. I can't play as someone who's voice I imagine being quite hectic and almost panicky at times.

I have to play as a husband or a wife who's committed enough to their relationship to have a child together and we lived in the suburbs. My character did not grow up in the slums. Nor was she from a wealthy family but wanted excitement out of life. I can't play as someone down on their luck, or a lone wolf.

Nope.

I'll roleplay as a husband or wife with a kid in the suburbs.

Because that's all I'm allowed to roleplay as at the start of the game.

Yes I am still quite bitter about the whole thing.

I probably won't really come up with much until I see what the intro really has, or doesn't have.

But considering our character will remember the world before the bombs fell, well that should make for some interesting RPing. Talk about waking up after 200 years and remembering the world when it was whole, like it was yesterday. Now nothing but devastation.

My first RP will likely be a woman who becomes a scavenger type character. Kinda like Mad Max. Maybe even call her Maxine so she can be "Mad Max" heh. She'll probably make a compound to store all her salvage on and have it set up to defend against Raider attacks. I'd imagine her background would be as an inventor or something. So now she'll salvage and build a world of her own.

But until I know more about how the whole thing begins, I can't really define myself into any certain type of RP just yet. Only that I plan to play the game so many times I'll have a lot of different RP characters after a while heh

Ah don't worry I'm certain when the creationkit for fallout wil be released a alternative start will occur and you can manage to make yourself a pretty good story without already living in the suburbs with a son and wife.

My character, who's father was a great admirer of western films, is named Clint Eastwood... After serving in the military, he meets a girl... he takes to her immediately. Not really love at first sight, more like being at war makes a guy lonely... She ends up pregnant, and at the insistence of her father, Clint is forced to marry her. As the pregnancy rolls on, He begins to develop feelings for Mary Anne... and even though their marriage was a forced one, it became one of love with time. Marry Anne Eastwood, and Clint would name their child Jonathan William Eastwood, after Clint's father...

Before the bombs fell, Clint was to speak at a charity held for wounded veterans and their families, the event was being held in part to honor Clints platoon, who for the most part gave their lives for their country. At that time, a time where he was most happy.... the world began it's downward spiral........

A husband who, like the story said, has lost almost everything. He was a very doting parent, and a loving spouse. Their happy family, his stable job as a Nuka Cola distribution office head, and a robobutler. Those were everything, until war came.

He only wants one thing to replace all that he/she has lost: a legacy. A creation. His progeny has been lost due to the damnable war. His love has burnt to ash.

His legacy?

To create a settlement, a burgeoning nation, out of the ruins of the Old World (remember Ulysses?), which would be the pride of the Commonwealth, and the scourge of his enemies. He wants to create a people that he loves, that he nurtures, that he will see growing into a stalwart bastion of civilisation. His new family. The progeny of his hard work and toil. His legacy.

He wants to be the father of an empire. The father of a new civilisation.

That. Is. Deep. Seriously.

After all, what are player characters than that they are the extension of our individual? Their action is the same as our action in that game. Their decision is the same as our decision in that game.

I'm afraid that doesn't hold true for every RPr. My characters are nowhere close to an extension of myself.

The ideals maybe?

Obviously, the ideals of our character and ourselves would not always overlap!

I'm talking strictly in a more literal sense (sorry for the highbrow language in my previous post btw ^^''' that maybe what seems to make this misunderstanding)

What I meant is: The character acted that way because you pushed the button. The character decided on something because you thought of the decision then you push the button.

To retconn my previous post, I might better say that the character is dictated by our fingers... Or our thoughts or our keyboards or anything that we thought of the character.

For example, he is a guy with a dark past because we think of him as one and we make him act like one in the games...

Well my first character will be basically a version of me. Boring I realize.

However I am hopeful that the F4 starting sequence we have seen so far will easily justify almost any character you can come up with. You have been frozen for 200 years(that's the displayed beginning, right?).

ANY kind of brain damage/personality change could result from that. Not to mention the shock of waking up 200 years into the future.

Which is also how I felt about my characters in FNV. Survived being shot twice in the head? It doesn't matter who you were before, the damage could have changed you in so many ways.

All of my characters are usually Neutral in nature, I don't expect that to change for my 1st playthrough in Fallout 4. Other playthroughs I may go evil or good, we'll see.
