Roleplay Build

Hi all. After playing Oblivion extensively, I've decided to re-install Morrowind on my home PC so I can sate my thirst until I get a gaming rig and can play it to my heart's content.

I spent most of yesterday downloading my essential mods, probably having missed out a few, but hey. (On a side note, I've been looking for a Dunmer face mod that included a female face with blue eyes and a daedric letter tattooed under one of her eyes (I believe it was her right eye, but I'm not sure), if anyone knows what mod that is from, I'll happily pay you in cookies.)

Anywho, I'm planning on creating a character to roleplay extensively. However, I'm struggling to give her any depth of story whatsoever. I'll post what I've got so far, and if you guys could throw up any ideas you have, it would be most appreciated.

She's going to be a female Dunmer of Great House Telvanni. To this end she's going to be a pure Mage and rather anxious for advancement as all Telvanni are. However, I don't want her to be an amoral (for lack of a better word) [censored], who'll just step on anyone to get to what she wants. This is where I need some help, I'm not sure how to provide depth of character whilst still maintaining the Telvanni ethos of yearning for greater power.

It seems like the only thing I could do is roleplay her as having a great lust for power which is her driving force in everything. To be honest, I'm not a fan of that as I've had ideas about her future fluttering around in my head. But I'm against planning out more than her basic personality. I'd much rather let my character tell me what they want to do, rather than the other way round.

I apologise for the rather long ramble, I got a bit sidetracked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well even good guys want power. Maybe she has seen people get hurt and wants the power in order to stop that. Whether she can resist corruption once she gets it is another thing. But if she saw the organized powers in the land--the Empire, the Tribunal, etc--doing wrong, she might want the kind of power a Telvanni Archmagister can have in order to be able to stand up to such people.

No idea on the mod, tho. No cookies for me.

Great idea! Thanks, Ashunartes. That also leaves scope for her to complete the main quest, as I intend to subject her to many emotionally tough moments to see how she'll handle them. Which is good.

Any other ideas are still more than welcome =] After all, you can never have too much choice.
