My ancestry were Portuguese-Jewish vendors of oriental Peacocks that needed to change their names when Portugal started indoctrinating (Could not find better word) Jews into Catholicism. Their new name was "Pav?o" (Peacock in Portuguese).

I'm jealous of you.

In-Topic: Don't is my thing OP. I like to stay "TES-ish" in TES.

haha, cmon now, Peacock vendors are awesome too ya know :)

But thanks, i am proud of my ancestors :D

I thought VR was terrible IMO. Should have been titled The Gang That Couldn't Sail Straight. The decent gore couldn't make up for the terrible story and directing. It was like Herzog's Aguirre, the Wrath of God, but triple the amount of LSD and none of the good points.

It was amazingly directed... so much better from those bgmusic filled pseudo-warrior movies about brave people that never existed. It showed me the incredible quiet deathly side to medieval living. It follows a guy to his spiritual end without speaking a single word about it. it takes amazing directing and writing to tell you a story without any words. the atmosphere was intense and drab, the events were empty of soul like the lives of a simpler kind of human.

so, have your taste. just know a few of the 'facts' you said there (bad directing) were incorrect facts. It's well established to be a great work of directorship.

I agree that Valhalla Rising doesnt seem to be a good movie... I've never watched it completly, but i do feel the story telling is bad

Edit: Don't worry Valhalla Rising supporters, i do respect your opinions, and i never watched the movie completly... don't even think i bothered watching half...

**** MAJOR spoilers of this film, please skip if you plan on seeing it****

Um, I think you miss the point of the film entirely. It's a metaphor for religion, and how zealotry can lead to madness and the fall of man. One Eye is obviously an Odin archetype, a primal, old force whose faith is slowly dwindling. The more vital and violent Christianity is slowly subjugating his world with little thought or care for the people themselves. Both of them come to the new world, and what happens there is a symbol for the birth of America. I could go on about how wonderful it all is, but I'm not sure you'd really care.

edit- and One Eye is silent to represent the old religion being mute in the face of the changes of the world. There is nothing he can say to change the course, he can see his ending.

I must admit that I agree with this jolly fellow; VR was, well, not a movie I liked.

I never said anything was fact. I actually went out of my way to say IMO.

The directing was terrible, the non existent budget unfortunately shined through. No character, bad acting, terrible story and dialogue (which was also pretty non existent).

I understood it, and it was terrible IMO.

ahhh Valhalla Rising, good movie. I can understand why some people dislike it, because it is different than what you were probably expecting.
