Roleplaying a serial killer

Post » Mon Feb 10, 2014 11:55 pm

I have a bunch of ideas for this, and am suprised that this didn't occur to me earlier. I enjoy killing people in video games tremendously, and there is one artifact in particular that feeds off of betrayal.

I was thinking of just starting the game in Markarth and heading in with no real aspirations or motives, other than to cause the people there great misery.

Spoiler
I could use the house associated with the quest 'House of Horrors' as I believe items don't respawn. An evil serial killer with a shrine to Molag Bal in his basemant? Yes please

I also wanted some advice on necromancy. I have never played as a necromancer and it sounds like great fun. Perhaps I could raise the innocent civilians I kill, and have my own undead army?

Have you ever played through Skyrim as a serial killer, and do you think this is a good idea? :D

Yes, it's incredible fun. Plotting assassinations can be such a grand experience, but RPing an insane murderer is also pretty fun. Either way it's great. And on necromancy, just focus on magicka and buy a very beginner raise dead spell, so you don't leave any evidence, but rather just a pile of ash.

Hagrid..When I read the title of the thread I was like "I'm always a serial killer in skyrim"

Any who, this seems like a neat idea but you're gonna want the ritual stone. (For the undead army part)

Also, what better way to be a serial killer in skyrim then to watch one in action? how about your character does the

Spoiler
Blood on the ice quest
so he can get the necromancer amulet?

I like the pile of ash idea! I also like the thought of having the Necromancers Amulet. :D

I also want to become a Werewolf, but there isn't a way to do so without joining The Companions.

Basically, I want prowl Markarth as a loony, sadistic killer, and prowl, The Reach as a hungry wolf, intent on pleasing Hircine. :P

You do realize they already have a faction that is essentially for the serial killer play style.

It is called the Dark Brotherhood.

Pfft. Calling themselves the Dark Brotherhood is an insult. I'm suprised they haven't invoked the wrath of Sithis.

They bastardised his name. Plus, I don't kill for money. Only for sport.

Well, good thing there is a city of completely incompetent guards that couldn't catch a serial killer if one was running around, windhelm is such a nice place for killing people.

Ya'know, I played a character who just lived to murder and eat people.

Since you're gonna be in markarth, why not give cannibalism a try? it would make for one creepy guy xD. You could kill someone, eat them, then raise their remains to fight for you.

The Dark Brotherhood generally do both.

Also to the person talking about how incompetent Windhelm's guards are when it comes to serial killers . . .

1. The guard force is streched thin as it is due to the war

2. The murderer made sure to cover his tracks well enough to frame an innocent

3. The only reason the murderer gets caught is a. you were there at the right time or b. he decided to run to his lair and you being smart enough to know where he would hole up follows him, up until that moment the guards did not know where his hiding spot was.

4. Does not help when the mage is suspect but not the odd looney guy.

It's better than it's rival city, where the hold guards are murderers.

Markarth or Riften? Or are you referring to Solitude?

But I already have Molag Bal's mace. I'm thinking that I want to crush their faces, rather than slit their throats. :P

I'm actually intrigued with this guy.. No idea as to a race.. No idea as to a class. But I know that I will write a backstory today.

Sheogorath! How did I forget? I could make this character bipolar. xD

I wouldn't call Markarth it's rival city though.

Riften guards don't murder like Markarth's, sure they are corrupt but Maven only kills people when she sees no other way around it.

Wait.. I can't worship Molag Bal AND Hircine can I? Damn. :(

I want The house with the shrine in it, so it will have to be Molag Bal. But I want to be a werewolf. Decisions decisions!

I'm not sure what the relationship between Hircine and Molag Bal is, though most cultists stick to one god.

A werewolf isn't as creepy as a cannibal tho hagrid. Imagine, you just killed someone..and now you are eating their guts in the middle of the night...then your character could raise them so you can be friends..but his friends always go away and he needs more else he'd be lonely.

You can also add Mephala to your list of Daedric princes. The ebony blade quest, along with Boethiah's quest are the ultimate quests of betrayal. Think about it. Serial killers are calm, cool, collective and suave in their charisma, approach and personality. These two quests would fit nicely to your build.

In a way it is, both have good locations for the serial killer lair too since said locations have the gloomy atmosphere.

Also it is implied that the Riften guards are sometimes involved when it comes to Maven deciding to off someone.

Now if they were talking about Solitude then I have one problem with that. In the eyes of the empire the guy was executed for breaking the law but Solitude has two gate and the tower has a place for Ulfric to leave from. I do not like what the solitude guards did but it is obvious that the captain of the guard there regretted what he did.

But yeah, the guard in Markarth are murderers, well not all of them that is, just a good portion. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the guards were blackmailed into killing someone.

I just thought, I'm going to be killing everyone in Markarth when I break out of Cidna Mine. This whole idea is obsolete
