Roleplaying in Single Player RPGs?

RP is one of those things that happens all the time in MMOs. A social environment leads people to engage with their character and the characters of other on an unheard of level, often basically becoming their character in game. People "speak" like their character, walk when it's appropriate, run or ride when it's appropriate, only fight certain enemies, and so on.

However, it doesn't just have to be limited to multiplayer. In something like Morrowind, I find the game really comes into its own when I slow down, when I stop running everywhere, when I don't do anything that my character wouldn't do, when I make certain factions off limits, when I sleep when the sun goes down and rise with the dawn. RPGs feel richer, on the whole, when I roleplay, when I behave as if my character and the world were actually living things obeying the specific rules of the universe. When I see the game as a world to be immersed in, rather than a product to be consumed, beaten, and abandoned, I feel that I am richer for it.

Does anyone else enjoy doing things this way?
