Romance :)

lol the numbers talks for the dummers just look...they have the minor charisma. anyway romance is just optional for me but it will be a PLUS in the game imagine with that improved system; persuade someone (maybe your wife) to go killing monsters with you, and maybe dogs! like dogmeat in fallout 3 that's cool.

I have had little luck persuading dogs in my lifetime. They just don't listen to logical reasoning

"HAY! HOW MANY PEEPLE AGREE WITH ME? LOLOLOL!"

This. This topic has been done hundreds of times. Use the search function.

Bias poll is bias.

And most of the community agrees with no romance, this isn't fable.

You're telling me that you've never once told a lie, fib, exaggeration or "temporarily modified" your personality for the purposes of romance? Whatever, it doesn't matter.

I've never lied or fibbed, I suppose I've "temporarily modified" my personality, but that's the type of thing that everyone does all the time. I'm doing it right now. It's not a false appearance or a lie though, it's just a public appearance. It's still part of the overall package. When you first get in a relationship or start flirting with someone, you hold back, you don't overwhelm them with everything at once. You start off with a "public appearance" to let them know how you act in public and around new people, as you get closer and build trust, then you open up more and relax more and behave more like you would normally, like being comfortable around friends and family.

Lying has no place in romance. Just because it happens doesn't mean it should.

I think you might want to clarify where dogs come into play in this topic about romance, sir. :stare:

In character, they [Dunmer] are grim, aloof, and reserved, distrusting and disdainful of other races.

This is why in-game they have a lower personality stat, it has nothing to do with them being physically unattractive.

Dunmer distrust and are treated distrustfully by other races. They are often proud, ruthless, and cruel, and young female Dark Elves are well known for their promiscuity.

Even if a romance system were implemented nobody who plays Elder Scrolls games would know how to use it.

False appearance and modifying your personality seem like the same thing to me, you are changing your outward image to change the way somebody will think about you, you can do the same thing by lying and/or exaggerating. And people will do it to you all the time. Though you wouldn't really know about it otherwise it wouldn't be a very good lie :P

Though charm spells (especially in oblivion) always struck me as odd. I think most people would act adversely to you openly manipulating their mind and would probably resent you for it, especially if you did it to get into their pants, as it were.

...What?

And it's not that the community doesn't want change, it's the fact that it just wouldn't really fit...

After all, there's romance in real life already ;)

I haven't understood any of what you've been trying to say this entire thread. You cast a spell on someone and they're in love with you? That's the roofie of magicka right there.

I thought I understood what this thread was going to be about when I first clicked on it, but boy, was I wrong.

Yeah, neither do I. I'm sorry if English isn't your first language, Chelevsco, but I have no idea what you are saying.

I hate romance in games because it is very much awkwardly done and is for those 17 and under who can't get any in real life and whose parents buy them M rated games. Bethesda should look at a plethora of other things instead of worrying about a lame game mechanic like romance.

What you're trying to say/express seems to not register to most posters, and I am not quite getting the point of this thread. Could you perhaps elaborate or specify on why and how you think Romance could be implemented into Skyrim? Because Fable's romance was aweful.

This part in particular, what?

I'm pretty sure he was just quoting UESP, not his inner desires

lol if you look it like in a common sense, its sick and lifeless even i thinks that. but if you use OBSERVATION; romance requires and improved sistem of npc interaction giving a game much options like taming dogs for life, lol, like fallout 3. and tell me what game use that? look at the crap like "two worlds 2" or "risen" and many more. you want skyrim to be like that? just a lineal game?

And..... AT LAST Illution magic and some other spell finally will work to get marry! that means "charisma"

Illusion, the date[censored] magic.

No one can do romance like a linear RPG. I say let FF do it because they do it much better than any open RPG.

It's grammar ;)

Okay, seriously now. You just said romance allows for taming dogs and that the lack of romance makes Skyrim lineal. This topic makes no sense at all.
