With a civil war, dragons roaming the land and a god threatening the world. Don't you think we have more pressing matters to attend to?

Granted, this is entirely a matter of personal taste.
But i just can't seem to grasp how a ?romantic relationship? might mature when the protagonist spends his days and nights hopping around. This kind of lifestyle usually leads to casual six, not romantic love, apparently as in the case of the forthcoming Witcher 2.

Yes, this is a matter of prefernce. But the words that come to mind when you say ?romantic relationship? in Skyrim are tacky, corny and cheesy.
Sorry.
Thanks, but no thanks!

Getting romantic relationships to work without feeling extremely superficial in an video game would be very hard.

I'd rather have bethesda spend their time and resources elsewhere.

Why did you restart the thread if you are clearly being sarcastic and are against the idea of romantic relationships? Believe it or not, but some may actually want the system for immersion purposes.

I personally don't care one way or the other, as I'll be busy hunting down dragons across Skyrim.

"Yes, I want a girlfreind in a video game" Really? That's just sad. :lmao:

I'd like some sort of emotion or personality from npcs. I've said this before, but npcs should be improved drastically before introducing such emotional attachments. How about starting with the basics? Like npcs that have unique personalities that my character could be friends with let alone dating. Remember how hard Fable 3 fell? Every non essential NPC was generic and had such little personality that I really didn't care if they lived or died.

probably, but it's not gonna stop me from joining a guild and murdering people as an assassin. as well as my PC sitting at a bar drinking at least a day away
my point is i can see romance here, IF IMPLEMENTED correctly, but truly i could care less

I'd want believable romantic relationships between NPCs, and the type of allusions to sixuality/sensuality that's been in previous TES games, but I don't personally see the appeal in PC romances. I don't think you can put across the type of tiny subtle interaction and intimacies that happen in a real relationship. If they can get it so that NPCs have believable relationships in this game, maybe they can move on to PC ones next time round. One step at a time imo, and I'd much rather have believable NPC interaction down pat first.

Keep relationships out of games. A real girlfriend is enough for me, adding it to videogames is a step backwards for video-game's social acceptance.
Honestly if the other Elder Scrolls games were brilliant without it then I'm sure the game won't suffer without it.
I don't care whether it is implemented or not but I'd rather time was spent on other aspects.

Still why make a sarcastic topic?

Poll is orientation biased.

Maybe some people want a boyfriend in a video game.

Another poll that associates romance with BioWare. This is not a registered trademark, people. Tes can feature relationships without any inspiration from BioWare, Fable or whatever. Yes, I want romance and I want it to be optional, because some of my characters will seek for this and some will not.

Yeah... Fishin'

Seriously, the 'option' to strike up a friendship/relationship through npc conversations would be acceptable to me.

It doesn't add to realism if it's not done right, and it usually isn't. It's usually weird. (fable, dragon age etc.)
