Royal Rumble. Anyone exicted for it?

Wow just found out who you mean and I don't know how to take those returns although one of them has been subject to a lot of rumors about signing a contract with WWE in recent months. Also on the Papa Shango one apparently Wade Barrett mentioned it on his Twitter during the week about him appearing.

That's generally the way I watch it myself. I switch off and just watch and enjoy the show. Although growing up in the 90's and actually remembering the Monday Night Wars I have to say it does get a bit depressing to watch at times. Although I do like spotting mistakes being made throughout the show.

Also Davor I only know that I hope the rumors of Papa Shango being a part of the rumble are true as he takes me back to the 90's.

I recall the wars, I liked the WCW at the time, the NWO was 'cool'.

I use to like it , of course I know it was fake but still even though when I liked it a long time ago and knew it was fake a royal rumble oh god six plus years ago pissed me off. But I must say for not liking it now I say the wrestlers have a hell of a tough job. I give them that and they deserve the money they earn. I always considered it the men's soap opera but people like it though and for their own reasons.

Ah but wrestling does tell a story. The problem of todays wrestling, is Vince is so full of himself, the he is accepting the crappy writing or his ideas that he is putting out, is just plain bad.
I agree the story telling is so bad now, but what can I do, been watching for over 30 years now. :)
So vince mcman makes up the ideas... SO he hadthe idea he wanted Rikishis ass in his face. Talk about taking one for the team. But yeah no plot/emotions imo

Don't forget, wrestling tells a story. Yes most of the stories are bad now, but still, when you are at a live even, and you cheering or BOOING the person you don't like, it's great. Again, it's a LIVE SOAP OPERA. There is no other entertainment that does this. It's either on TV rehearsed or on movies that are rehearsed as well. Watching wrestling live as well, things go wrong. It's nice to catch their slip ups and you laugh at it.
Thier slip ups make things worse, you cant fight, now you cant even act.
Well here on Canada it's on the Score so I can't comment on it being on syfy since we don't have it here. As for not understanding why people like it, it's just like saying why do some people love Twilight and others hate it. Why do some people love Titainc, or Lord of the Rings, or Star Wars, or What ever. Some people swear they are the greatest movies, while others say they are the worst or just blah. If you don't like it, it will be hard to try and convince someone saying it's great or good.

OH I miss the wrestling of the 80's and 90's. Yes wrestling has gone downhill right now. Being PG in WWE has anything to do with it? No, I don't think so, it's just a few people in power in WWE that is letting this crappy story telling to happen.

I hate wresteling now. But one thing I cant deny. Stone cold was [censored] awesome. Despite being an actor, and knowing its fake the dude is still awesome.

As an avid WWE fan, I personally dislike with what's going on these days. Up until about 2008; things were okay, but better before that. Right now everything is a mess. The Miz; WWE champion... Are you serious? And what the hell is New Nexus all about? Give me a break..

Anyway; now that I have that off my chest; yes, Im pumped for the Royal Rumble this year due to the 40 Superstar jump.

As for surprise guests:
Spoiler
I doubt Ric Flair will be one of them, but who knows? I really hope it's either The Rock, Goldberg, or Steve Austin though. Every other superstar I liked went to TNA (ew.)

This is what I have read about the surprises.

Spoiler
Booker T and Kevin Nash both dropped any prior engagements they had today, and the are both in the city where the Rumble is being held. Also, Nash couldn't come to an agreement to return to TNA, so that makes him being in more likely.

That sounds pretty cool. I really liked Booker T before he became "King Booker". Back when he was on Raw and did the Spinaroonee (sp?), back when Triple H was Heavyweight Champ backed by Evolution... Good times..

Kevin Nash is cool too. I only liked him in the NWO days though, not afterwards. His character in "The Longest Yard" was funny though.

I agree with everything you said.

Also, Im not sure about Nash. I liked him in the nWo days too, but he seems pretty whiny these days. I do hope Booker is coming back though, and I would almost guarantee he would act like the old cool Booker since we already have King Sheamus.

I'd be so glad if Booker comes in with his old theme music, and performs atleast one Spinarooni(sp?) after doing that kick of his. What was that signature move called? Book End?

The Book End was pretty much the same thing as the Rock Bottom, but the kick was called the scissor kick. I completely agree too, that would be awesome.

Well, since my favorite wrestler Randy Orton isn't in it, I want to see Sheamus win. Wade Barrett would be my Dark horse favorite. I have a feeling though, that Kane has a very good shot at the win. He has had more success recently with the MitB and World Title wins. Plus, every year when they promo the Rumble, they make note of how Kane once eliminated the record 11 people in one Rumble, and how he has been in like 12 Rumbles. Ha ha, my list pretty much says I want a bunch of jerks to win. Well, I can't help it. WWE just doesn't have very many good guys I like. The only fan favorites I like aren't strictly good. Edge, Orton, and Undertaker might get cheered, but they aren't above stabbing some backs or punting some heads.

Is HHH in it? He's my all-time fav. Since I haven't been able to follow WWE as much as before, I don't know what the roster for the match will be.

HHH hasn't wrestled since, like, April I think. However, there is speculation that he is gonna be one of the surprises. As of now, there are 34 out of 40 spots filled, leaving 6 unannounced. Also, Ted DiBiase Jr. is said to be really sick, so that might open a spot, but that might not even be true. Its also possible Undertaker could return in the Rumble, but I doubt it. I don't think he has recovered enough to wrestle yet. I've also heard Evan Bourne and Christian, who have also been out with injury, could possibly make their returns. This is all speculation though. Man, I must be the biggest wrestling nerd on these forums. If you have any other questions, there's a good chance I can answer for you.

Hmm, I didn't know about Triple H being out. :sadvaultboy:

Anyway, I just looked up a site that depicts odds of potential entrants. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/590174-wwe-royal-rumble-2011-predicting-the-odds-of-potential-entrants

My favorites for it is Kane. He's one of the old timers. If him and Undertaker are in the ring together; it will be unforgettable.. I just got a chill in my spine thinking about it.. I mean picture it; Kane is in there kicking ass when suddenly the church bell rings (undertakers theme song).... Undertaker shows up.... OMG

Then they have an epic stare down in the middle of the ring before decided to team up and eliminate everyone else!

I seriously doubt that'll happen though.. Most likely either Mysterio or Ezekial Jackson will win. I kinda like CM Punk though, even back when he was the heel against Jeff Hardy.

Yeah the Taker/Kane thing wouldn't happen. If you don't know, back in the Summer someone supposedly took out Taker. Kane spent a month or so trying to figuring out who did it, then we find out it was actually him. Then Taker comes back but can't really handle Kane. Paul Bearer comes back to help Taker but then he turns on him and helps Kane. Then Kane took Taker out again.

I highly doubt Mysterio or Jackson will win. Jackson isn't at that level yet, and Mysterio doesn't seem like he's gonna be around much longer. I also doubt that they want him in the Wrestlemania main event with him being extremely injury prone.

I think Punk could have a shot, but I think with his feud with John Cena, they already have other plans for him.

Oh, and the Hardy thing. I didn't really like Punk then, because, at the time, Hardy was my favorite wrestler. But now, Hardy is just weird. He's with TNA, and they aren't as strict on forcing people to be different characters, and Hardy just awful. Matt went there too, and he is awful as well.

edit: I wouldn't go by those odds. There are a lot of people listed who aren't even going to be in the Rumble. It mentions Cody Rhodes, and as of right now, he's not gonna be in the match. Hornswoggle, Finlay, Jerry Lawler, Alberto Del Rio's ring announcer? I highly doubt any of them will be in it. Goldust is listed, but he is not healed from injury, not to say he wont be there, but its unlikely.

Oh, and by the way, HHH is likely to be back any day. He has been ready to go for months, but they just haven't found the right time to bring him back.

Yea, TNA is messing everyone up. Kurt Angle was epic back on WWE. Over there he's just a random dude..

I liked Hardy back in Bischoffs Raw. Also, didn't Paul Bearer die when they buried him in concrete? People in WWE don't stay dead for long do they...

Edit: Except Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit. RIP. Best cheater, and best technical wrestler ever.. :cryvaultboy:

That last part is very true. Oh, and don't know if you saw, but I edited my last post before this one with some good info.

It's not a guarantee that he will be back, but I'd say there's like a 99% chance he will be. ECW has been gone for a long time, so not there. Sheamus is the one who took HHH out las year, so they are going to be going against each other again I'd say. Plus, being as important as HHH is, being part of the McMahon family and all, he can pretty much choose where he goes, and I'd say that would be Raw. HHH has been on Raw for nearly all of the time since the brand split in 2002 or whenever that was.

I hope he becomes World Heavyweight Champion again..

Also, as for speculations on whose making a comeback; any chance Brock Lesnar will be in the mix?

There have apparently been talks about it between Vince and Dana White. However Dana said no to Brock coming in for the rumble according to what I have read. Also I don't know how him returning would be taken by the wrestlers due to the fact that he was ripping on the Undertaker and basically blaming him for losing his UFC title as Taker had been at the only 2 matches in UFC that Brock has lost
