rpg games should be banned from consoles

You console guys can't possibly like the fact that you only have 2 hotkeys. [censored], New Vegas gave you 7.

Def. dont like it, gotta chalk it up as a miss in the things they changed this time around.

Honestly, based on this thread alone, it doesn't seem like TES fans are any better than WoW players...
It's just the newbies. /: Just like the freshmen at school. :yucky:
I wanna murder someone now. c:
OT: You're from WOW
That's another game, not Skyrim.

I couldn't care less. I like the favorites menu infinitely more than the hotkey circle. Mainly because there can be several more slots, and you don't have to memorize it as much. Plus, with the way the D-Pad works, you could barely get the diagonal positions.

So, I prefer the system in Skyrim over the one in FO3 and Oblivion.

I play using a controller for these games, and I must say that it svcks being required to pause the battle just to pop a potion or to change my off-hand weapon to a light spell. Of course, I don't exactly use a 360 controller, even if it registers as one, so I have no issue hitting the diagonals properly.

Thankfully for me, since I am on the PC, I have the advantage of mods that give me a full 7 hotkeys. :P

Yeah the system is fine if you just use swords and a bow. If you play a mage it is total horse s***.

I like play wow pvp alot but I hate questing in it so I started playing skyrim too and then I noticed I have like only 5 keybinds to use. In wow I use 50 keybinds on my mage.

Ok here is problem. I can't even dual wield when svitching from bow.

I press favourites my both 1h maces (glass maces), so they come up same time. Then I svitch to bow and back to maces but maces won't come up.

I press 3, both maces come up
I press 2 I get bow
I press 3 I see only my both fists.

Before I forged those maces into legendary it worked fine.. but not anymore.

I basicly need press Q button and scroll everytime I need something like stupid consoles do manually or just stick with 1 weapon. Seriously I'm not even bothering using pots/food because I need go to stupid menu section. This game needs keybinds and alot of them.

Your issues are bolded statements. TES is mired in menus.

As for the second bolded statement, that is the problem. The game registers your maces as a new weapon. You no longer have "glass mace" in your inventory. You have "Glass Mace(Legendary)" in your inventory. Rebind your legendary glass mace and that should resolve your issue. If not, its a bug. Get over it. No reason to say this game does not belong on consoles because you are unable to keybind. Try going into the Config.ini if you really have to.

So RPGs - blanket statement, all rpgs, even those that make no use of hotkeys, like FF - should be banned from consoles, for everyone, because you would like more hotkeys. That's a much more logical solution then just, you know, buying the game for PC yourself so you can have all your keys, and letting people who like to play on the console, play on the console. Not that this thread was logical to begin with.

Also, as a former WoW player, these current/former players running on here to continuously compare the two games is really embarrassing. I swear we're not all like this.

How about people ignore the hyperbole and address the issue at hand?

The game needs a better system for accessing multiple spells, especially on consoles. I doubt anyone is brain dead enough to deny that.

Honestly, I don't understand the big deal with pausing the game. The longest I've been in the favorites menu is about five seconds, and I was looking over ALL of my 10+ shouts in that time, deciding which I should kick the crap out of a cave bear (which I can mutilate) with.

Sure, maybe I spent a few moments looking over my favorites menu when I was a noob, but now I never spend more than half a second, and that's all scrolling.

This system, in my opinion, is FAR superior to Oblivion's, in that we have more slots for quick-access, and it's easier to get the hang of. Selecting spells in Oblivion, at least for me, was f***ing terrible, because I had to re-memorize every damned keybind every three levels. Not to mention how damn crowded my spell-book got.

Ignoring for a moment all the rude replies to the o/p ...

If you ban Elder Scrolls from consoles then they probably wouldn't have enough profit on sales to develop games of this scale.

So unless you want Bethesda to turn to low-content, high-profit iOS games, let them continue to develop multi-platform.

Can't we all just get along.

Failing that, can't we just lock this topic?
