RPG/RTS as a demi god

So there are other lands other than Tamreil. From books and other sources we know after Oblivion the empire is starting to fracture. Akatosh wants to hedge his bets so he guides a group to a forgotten continent, and bestows exceptionally long life. indefinite like the Tribunal gods, on one of them, you. Other daedric princes or powers send creatures, humanoids and daedra to start other colonies or destroy the newly forming ones. Your small colony must survive. Yes your black smith is very strong and can wield a wicked huge club but if you loose him in battle your weapons and armor will not be repaired as well and new and improved ones have to wait till the apprentice becomes more proficient. You start in huts, then comes the houses and a town. You will need mines and farms and to protect them. There would be exploration and development. Battles could be small stealth like hits on other outpost etc or epic protect the town, man the gates seiges. Careful you loose a healer, especially early on then sickness and disease is more of a problem in your colony. The goal, create the beginnings of a new empire.

You can pick a starting area, maybe a swamp where the Argonians feel at home. Don't like a particular person or even race in your colony make sure you don't have suffer through their offspring. This fear may keep your people in line or some may choose to revolt or defect. Choose who will develop what type of talents. Children will be naturally more adept at what their parents did and the natural talents of their races, but how motivated are they to continue? You want a build a wall and arm it with nasty little wood elves that is your choice. Rather use them in clandestine operations to assassinate NPC farmers of other colonies to starve your enemies go for it, but if your enemies figure out its you, expect retaliation. You started in yurts, and if you've done well, end with a city and outpost. Basically it would be an RTS game on a personal level. These people are your people. You watched them grow up, you gave their lives directions and you will watch them die, be it old age, animal attack or a battle. You will watch and direct their children and grandchildren.

It's Akatosh/ Auri-El(Aldmeri)/ Alduin(Nordic), not Acatosh. and i dont think Bethy should concentrate on any TES game other than V.

An rts would be cool. Something like Alpha Centauri, set during the Anuad years.

It is good-sounding premise for an RPG/RTS, but I don't see how the Elder Scrolls lends anything to it that a unique fantasy universe could not -- other than a sense of familiarity for Elder Scrolls fans, that is.

I like my RPG's a lot more than my RTS's... And I like Bethesda to make my RPG's for the most part as it's what they do best. I really hope they stick to that almost exclusively.

Do you mean something like "Total War" only on a smaller scale and you actually control the actions and the levelling of the family members?

If that's what you meant, it might be cool as a TES game, not TESV though.

It would be cool if there was a campaign map, where you act as the ruler of the kingdom and do legislature and battles. Then also a game map in which you play a specific character and the terrtories and cities you visit in the game reflect what you do in the campaign map.

And you can switch back and forth between them. Depending on whether you want to conquer and build the cities, or play in the world you build.

That's so unfeasible, but it would be so cool.

Hmm... I don't think it would be in the character of any Aedra to meddle in the lives of mortals to as great an extent as this.

EDIT: But I do like what you're getting at. Love RTS games and with the large amount of lore in the ES series, a RTS could fit right in.

Civilization, not Total War. I like Total War, but the formula wouldn't give justice to culture aspects, which are really what set TES apart from Heroes of Might and Magic - which isn't rts, but I can't think of a 'fantasy' rts at the moment - and so on.

The ES universe would be fun because like you said the familiarty and rich culture/history already created, also you have different species but the factions are not necessarily between races like Starcarft or Warhammer.

I was thinking smaller, a capital city, a few towns and several outpost, but have the campaign map like you mentioned where you could zoom in to NPC view on a farming settlement to watch/guide it. The battles would be smaller scale like Mount & Blade ranging from raids of 1-10 NPCs to battles of a few hundred.

I was thinking of the land improvements like developing roads, farms, mines or a city wall but your comment made me think of the great wonders in Civ. For the smaller scale of the game it would be cool to make little shrines or temples that added blessings and etc.

I agree with others wanting Beth to focus on TESV and anxiously wait for its arrival. I would also love for someone to try their hand at a smaller more personal and full rts/rpg. Mount and Blade simple and a lot of fun, add land/city improvements, discoveries, a lush Oblivion/Morrowind land and a ES universe and I think I would be in heaven.

It would be cool if they could pull this off, however, it would have to be a Daedra or a member of the Tribunal or something, not a Divine. The Divines are in a semi-aware dreamstate at best, and tied to Nirn and all its people. They were semi-"merged" with Mundus as a disastrous side effect to the pact of creation. So there's no way a Divine would be manifesting itself, flying around, giving complex commands, making distinct decisions.
