These Game of the Year things are kinda silly imo. So subjective.

That said...congrats Obsidian/Beth, I personally love the game and have no issue with anyone wanting to call it a RPG of the year. It's certainly MY game of the year. :D

NV = Perfect mix of RPG and FPS elements, IMO. One of the few games left that I feel is fully worth the release price with all the content that's included and potential hours that can be invested. :fallout:

So the only other games in the RPG catergory are fable 3 and ME2? Was it really that slow for RPGs last year?

I guess I'm playing old games cause I didn't notice the genre had so few titles. I never played fable 3 but I'd bet dollars to donuts that F:NV crushes that game.

I think F:NV has been successful enough to justify another sequel. Regardless of awards I think that is the most important thing, cause then we get more fallout :disguise:

(there's more topics about F:NV than FO3 on the forums now too. Does that mean F:NV has generated more interest than FO3? I wonder which title has been more successful dollar wise? Sorry im too lazy to info hunt right now.)

i have played Fable 3 to completion,i didnt have any bugs.New Vegas had so many bugs it should have came with a can of raid.

To counter that, I played Fallout New Vegas with one bug in about 150 hours so far. I played fable 3 for 20 mins at a friends and encounter 5 bugs.

@Ratts: New Vegas sold more. But i'm also too lazy to link.

I'm sure there were a crapton of copy pasted jrpgs but who counts those? :P I can't think of any other big titles than ME2, Fable 3 and NV.

I just hope that Diablo 3, which is branded as a rpg, won't take the title in 2011. Character building hack n' slash would be more accurate :sadvaultboy:

There's a hype "against" Diablo 3?
I looks far more like the originals than FO3 did for it's originals.

Yeah, NV gets GOTY in my opinion, too. :fallout: Open world FPS + RPG with great writing = teh bestest game format evar.

Congratulations Obsidian and Bethesda, and hopes for more awesome collaborations in the future. :celebration:

Wat.

If you can't stand people disliking games you may like, well, look to your own signature for what to do.

I have never liked the Diablo series for a wide variety of reasons, none of which I'm going to expand upon further as that would be terribly offtopic.
Besides, you being a mature and sensible induvidual, know perfectly well what subjectivity means, and that noone gets hurt by having differing opinions.

Guys stop talking about Diablo 3. My heart skips when I hear about it.
The day it comes out I'll fake my death to make time for endless gaming sessions.

On a serious note, let's stay on topic.

Diablo's have never been RPG's in my book (and I do love the Diablo's). Still drives me a little crazy when I hear people call them RPG's, these days. I used to call them RPG-Lites but more descriptively, they're stat-based combat games. Definitely not the thing for ppl who want stories. ;)

These Game of the Year type things always make me realize that I haven't played many games made in the year in question. Mass Effect...nope. Black Ops...nope. DA...nope. heheh.
I'm so glad I picked up NV tho. I wasn't sure I was in the mood for a story-RPG but turns out I was. It's been awesome for winter-time. *thumbsup*
