RPing a Shaman class...

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:39 pm

So I'm making a Argonian Shaman, was wondering what kind of skills to use.

Restoration
Mysticism
Destruction
Alchemy
?
?
?

Also, If anyone could recommend some mods for this type of class I would appreciate it.

Yeah but I was gonna leave that out because it it's governed by personality, this character is kind of a recluse. I dunno maybe I'll take it if fits in better than other skills.

you can always ignore the personality multiplier.

You also might want to try http://www.fileplanet.com/168187/160000/fileinfo/Elder-Scrolls-IV:-Oblivion---TamrielTravellers

I'd add Illusion and definitely Alteration. I believe a Shaman would be able to use nature to, for example, walk on water. Hence, waterwalk.

After that, you've got one skill left. Perhaps Marksman or Blade for hunting? I assume since he's a reclusive shaman, he'll spend 99% of his time in the wilderness, so in my opinion it makes sense. But you might prefer him to use his magic to hunt, I don't know.

Alchemy

From my past experiences of WoW (not sure if I can post the full name in this forum), I suggest...

Conjuration - altough the most creatures you can summon are daedra and undead, there are also atronachs and they belong to a shaman like a thumb to an arm. I especially loved Frost Atronachs, helped me a lot.
Alteration - as posted, mainly for Wasser Walking, W. Breathing, Feather (Burden). You know, shaman has the ability to alter the surrounding world to his pleasure. Or himself to adapt to the world.
Alchemy - what's a shaman without his herbs?
Destruction - shamans are especially dangerous with their elemental magic.
Blunt - well, unlike Morrowind staves do not belong to a skill, but even a shaman can hit with a mace.
Light Armor - shaman is not a pure unarmored mage after all, has to protect himself as well with something touchable. If you prefer Heavy Armor, pick it instead, I don't think it matters much.
Restoration - healing is the most common thing for any shaman... You can't be shaman without Restoration.

This is just IMHO, I once tried similiar build in Morrowind and choose Orc. Lot of fun I can tell you.
