Real Time Strategy (RTS) games vs Turn Based Strategy (TBS) games. What is the difference?
The RTS games I have played have all had a player "pause button" so you can give your orders to many things. Is there an RTS game that does not allow a player to pause?
I ask because the pause function makes the game basically "turn based" instead of "real time." You are giving orders while the opponent sits there, frozen in time. I'm not trying to diss the genre, but this has always confused me. I prefer TBS over RTS and if the pause function was absent, I would not enjoy it
Or is the difference just that you have to pause the game instead of it happening automatically?
