I make no distinction. Afterall, it's not like you can buy an AMD processor and slap it onto an Intel motherboard. (Although, I think someone built something like that years ago..)

The only suggestion I would make would be to invest in a SSD for your system drive, this will give you massive performance increases on boot and load times for your OS. Also if you have enough space for a game (such as Skyrim) that is texture heavy having that extra read speed makes a huge difference.
