I was looking around the Skyrim wikia for any armor or weapons I might have missed from the quests in Dawnguard, and I stumbled upon a page for Auriel's Shield, and it says you need the Ruby Paragon to access it. I had every Paragon except the Ruby one so I went to find out where the Frost Giant was that dropped it. As it turns out, the Frost Giant that drops the Ruby Paragon in the Inner Sanctum (past the door that needs the Initiate's Ewer) dropped the Emerald Paragon for me. Thinking that maybe the drops are randomized, I went to the Frost Giant that is supposed to drop the Emerald Paragon (in the mountains surrounded by Falmer camps, near the Shrine of Resolution) and it has not even spawned for me. It's been about 2 weeks in-game since I killed the Frost Giant in the Inner Sanctum so if it was going to respawn, I imagine it would have by now, so I'm assuming there's no way for me to get the Ruby Paragon at this point without modding.

Any suggestions?

Update: I waited another 2 in-game weeks to see if the Frost Giant would respawn after all that. No luck yet.

I'm not home, so I can't confirm, but I'm sure that the Ruby Paragon is in a chest near the giant, not actually on him like the others.

Thank you for the reply. I can check around any chests in the Inner Sanctum again, but I'm not one to skip out on loot so I don't think I'd miss any chests =p.
