Rumours - werewolves confirmed by the man himself

The user Lori says, according to "some people" who supposedly had a talk with Todd, that he confirmed werewolves.

"thought werewolves were confirmed already. Ive heard from some people who had talked to todd howard during E3"
"well people were all saying that werewolves were confirmed when they saw that picture with the guy that had weird looking eyes. Then people said after that, that he confirmed there guesses"
"yea they were like either red or dull colored eyes I cant remember, people were saying that they could be werewolves then all the people said it was confirmed"

I don't know what picture she's referring to, it might not even have been released outside of E3 yet, as far as I know.

I don't know what to believe. As you can see, I'm pretty skeptic Todd confirmed that personally to some fans or "people", while Ashley Cheng didn't even want to talk about the subject. I mean, wouldn't Todd say that to the journalists first? Or at least wait until the Q&A.

I'm Joel by the way :)

I'll believe it only when and if we hear it from official sources, nothing less is satisfactory.

I'm sceptical that Todd would confirm it to anybody when Bethesda aren't prepared to say anything
Ashley Cheng refusing to say anything either way suggests to me they might be working on it but aren't certain it will be in the game yet. Thats about as hopeful as I feel can be justified

Not saying you should trust her, it's obviously hearsay, but I just wanted to share it with you.

How does Vampires/Necromancy/Werewolves fit into Norse Mythology anyway.

My best bet would be in Elderscrolls 6 with that Swam type Land

Its a troll (frost variety) :)

@above, Skyrim's lore is FILLED with vampire and werebeasts, it would be abnormal NOT to have them.

Skyrim is NOT Scandinavia. And it's basically the werebears' and werewolves' home, plus the Volkihar vampires.

As someone else said, yes, it provides some wishful thinking. :)

I hate it how people seem to think that the History and Cultures of Tamriel have to reflect our own.

That would be a frost troll, not a werewolf.

But they do, every fictional idea is inspired by something that exists. Has to be, that's how inspiration works.

The Imperials resemble Romans and Babylonians depending who you ask (Oh yes they do, lol).

Dunmer Ashlanders seemed pretty Mongolian to me, they lived in yurts.

Akaviri influences seem very Asian (katanas? really?)

Elswyr sure sounds Middle Eastern whenever I read about it.

And Nords are heavily influenced by northern Europe. They're called NORDS; they're tall, blond, build for the cold, Drink mead, love to fight and break things, and wear spikey metal helmets.

They're vikings, get over it.

Heavily influenced does not mean they are the same. I'm pretty sure magic didn't exist in Rome, did it? The lore here is whatever Bethesda damn well wants it to be.

Inspired by yes, doesn't mean they are what they are inspired by, and no, Nords are not vikings, they are Nords, likewise Skyrim is not Scandanvia, it's Skyrim, it has Magic, Giants, Trolls, Dragons, Draugr and all sorts of creatures, none of which existed in our history. They also have different gods, they may resemble Vikings, but they are definatly not Vikings, again; Vikings existed in our world, Tamriel is NOT our world... unfortunately.

It's just rumor, although that doesn't mean that Beth didn't have a look at Werewolves. They probably did some anolysis to see if they would work in the game.

looks like a Dovakhin to me, oh wait... is it a viking?

Nord religion and Norse mythology DO draw many, MANY parallels.

And in fact the ancient Norse people did believe that magic, giants, trolls, draugr and dragons existed, all of this are staples of Norse mythology.

So yeah, they're vikings.

On topic, werewolves would be fun :D

Werewovles would be cool. Especially limited to a certain region, far away from any civilization so it is easier to be caught there at night. Or if walking at night near the region you can hear their howling.

Whatever you say man, I'm not going to argue about this any further. As far as I'm concerned however, Nords are Nords.

Anyway, Werewolves... yeah it would be fun, I've not played Bloodmoon yet so I don't know what the werewolf feature was like but if it was implemented properly it would be fun, hopefully more fun than being a vampire was in Oblivion.
