Running animation

I've always enjoyed exploring in Oblivion, but whenever I view my character in 3rd person, I hated moving diagonally and watch my character move as if he was going forward. I know this isn't a big issue but do you think they've reworked the movement in Skyrim so the movement doesn't seem so wooden?

There is a small glimpse of how movement when you see the thief sneaking in the game-play trailer, but it's hard to tell just on that.

Please tell me I wasn't the only one that noticed this, either.

Wasn't this altered in Fallout 3? Or am I remembering wrong?

Regardless, I don't think you need to worry.

Maybe, I only remember the terrain effecting your characters foot positions, such as if you were on a stair or lifted terrain with one leg, one leg would remain on the ground and the other would be on the stair. This isn't exactly a big issue but because of the IGN interview I think they would've reworked it because of the new engine and such.

I always thought 3rd person in Fallout 3 was worse than in Oblivion....

Agreed. The diagonal movement was especially ridiculous.
