Running FO3 in Windows on a Mac

Post » Wed Aug 08, 2012 3:30 am

I don't have a bug or anything to report, I just want to ask a question before I shell out for a copy of Windows.

I currently have a 15" MacBook Pro (MC723LL/A) with 2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, and Intel HD Graphics 30005 / AMD Radeon HD 6750M with automatic graphics switching. I am wondering if anyone is successfully running Fallout 3 or New Vegas in Windows installed through Boot Camp on similar Mac hardware?

Before the peanut section chimes in... I have no intention of buying a PC for this endeavor. I already own both titles on the 360 and have played the heck out of them. This isn't about playing the game. My ultimate goal is to use the Creation Kit to do some modding, level editing and what have you. Mostly, I want to mess around, and can't afford a large investment just to do it.

Thanks for any useful tips, tricks, or advice.

Before purchasing the game you need to check the system requirements. OS: Windows Vista/XP, Processor 2.4GHz (Will not run well with quad core or more) Video Card NVidiaGeForce 6800, ATI x850, minimum.
There is a way to run the game with an integrated Intel chip, but being able to do anything else would be iffy.

So far, I haven't seen Radeons having that trouble (not taking over properly from an onboard video chip). It's only Geforces that can't do what they are supposed to every time.
