Running Morrowind without CD

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 9:04 pm

Just returned from Afghanistan and my cd drive is all kinds of screwed up. Can't install blood moon or play cds at all, is there a way I can run morrowind without the cds themselves? And would I still be able to mod the game?

Tried to keep it simple and short, appreciate any help.

Buy Polish edition from "Click!" gamer magazine's cover-cd, it doesn't require CD to play :D

I'd suggest getting a new cd drive , which are cheap enough and you will need to get one at some point , failing that you could purchase the steam version (downloadable).
Other than that i don't know of any legal alternatives.

Steam version is able to be modded? Because if I can avoid all the skipping a scratchy cd does that sounds like the best alternative. Im horrible with computers and don't trust myself to be able to put in a new cd drive.

Yes, you can mod Steam.

Two things to mention:
- You have to redate the games BSAs back to their original dates for mods to work correctly. (the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19510 can automatically do this for you)

- You have to disable "Steam community in-game" for MGE to work.
