Running4Cover's List of Stealth Mods

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:01 am

the list is awesome. just found a compatibility patch for thieves arsenal and exstinguish the lights :D

Glad you like it! I'll try to grab a link for that in the near future (I'm sort of rushed for time and don't have internet at my house at the moment :P)

Your working on your version of Thiefs Highway? Saw it on TESnexus but you had blocked it :sadvaultboy:

Oh and by the way i find this thread very usefull! Found alot of great mods here

I'm afraid I dropped the Thieve's Highway project a while back (I was going for an Assassin's Creed style Theve's Highway, which seemed to playground-y for Oblivion, and have since become too addicted to Better Cities to mod the vanilla ones :P). In addition to this, I am currently messing with Dragon Age (*Bethesda Fanatic jumps out and shoots Running4Cover* :nothanks: ), so I've been somewhat distracted, though I may put out a Texture Replacer I was working on yet. I am always happy to hear my list has been helpful, and hope it continues to serve its purpose!

Even though you've added one to "Thieves Guild" titles throughout the original post, there's no apostrophe in the word "Thieves".

Actually, I believe that would depend on whether you interpret it as the guild consisting of thieves (in which case you would be right), or as the guild OWNED BY thieves (how I read it). That said, you may be right about how it is spelled ingame (I forget :P), and I may have spelled it incorrectly at other points, so thank you for your concern ;)

Actually, I think it MAY have an apostrophe, but not there. I think Thieves' instead of Thieve's. Thieve's just seems unnatural, and firefox's spellcheck doesn't like it. And the Highway does belong to Thieves. Or at least, I hope it does...don't wanna walk on something made of my comrades.

On a more on topic note, love the list. Many of these mods have become essentials for my mod kit, and I'm glad someone did a list about this fun theme.

Ah, I believe you are correct. We bow before your gramatical eloquence :D (the highway made of thieves DOES sound entertaining though... although a tad squishy perhaps).

Aaaaanyhoo, on a more serious note, I'm glad you found the list useful, and am always happy to know there are others who enjoy(ed) the stealth aspect of Oblivion!

EDIT:
The List has been altered to reflect the previous post.

This list is awesome. Grabbed four or five of them for my stealth/ranger character. Thanks big time running4cover.
On a side note: I actually made myself a mod called Woodland Ranger without knowing that one with the same name existed. Mine just makes a new class for those of us who want to be a good marksmen, without being a Bosmer >_>

Anyways, thanks!

Awesome, I'm glad you like the list, and I will look up your mod when I have the time to update the list! I'm pretty sure all my mains were Bosmers until I started using RBP, and then I just stopped because I was sick of being short :P

You do know that CDM-Skip Purification was removed, right? I don't know the reason, but it's been gone for a while now.

Haha, I know what you mean!

I was not aware, actually (I only used it on one game). I'll make the necessary changes, thanks!

No posts for the last week

I've decided that I will bump this thread with some frequency, as the whole purpose of the list is to be seen. I'm amazed that I'm not receiving more submissions, as I take that to mean this list must be more thorough than I realized (thanks to all past contribution and contributors). Anyway, as always, if you think anything should be added to this list, or wish to discuss current stealth mods or what should be made, feel free to post here ;D

I feel obligated to bump this again as it's been a really long time since there were any posts. Fun times.

Thank you for this thread and the recent bump. Without it I wouldn't have learned of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25689 which I'm downloading now and looks like a must-have mod.

Can i use Jog's Stealth Overhaul with Attack and Hide, or is that feature already in Stealth Overhaul? (this thread rocks btw!)

Stealth Overhaul already has a similar feature, but to a lesser extent than Attack and Hide. I installed Attack and Hide only briefly but I had an unstable mod setup, so I got rid of a bunch of the smaller tweak mods I was running; I can't say if Attack and Hide actually had issues with Stealth Overhaul or not, but it was among the 4-6 mods a got rid that successfully removed my CTD's while I was running Stealth Overhaul. By the way, I'm glad you like the thread ;)

Were these CTDs evidently related to stealth gameplay?

Yes. I left most of the related mods marked as "never played" on here though because I didn't feel I had tested them individually enough to say that I used and approved of them or thought they were buggy. The stealth-tweaking mods I was using at that time included SniperSneakSkillup, Attack and Hide, Stealth Overhaul (clearly not causing the CTD's, but maybe conflicting), Proximity Based Sneak Penalties, Duke Patrick's Near Miss Arrows and Magic Alert Target, Reneer's Guard Overhaul, Deadlier Sneaking, and maybe a few others, so my game got really bugged out, and I pretty much just whiped everything and started again with the basics :P

Do you know if SM Combat Hide, Proximity Based Sneak Penalties, and Jog's Stealth Overhaul are compatiable with each other?

Oh, and I love this thread too. Wish this was something that could be stickied.

I believe they should all work together; Proximity Based Sneak Penalties won't have a conflict with them, as all it does is alter you're sneak skill behind the scenes based on what NPC's are arround (because of this though it has other incompatibilities with some leveling mods). I don't think you'll have issues between SM Combat Hide and Stealth Overhaul, but it is possible :/

Thank you! I wish that too, but I'm just happy it's up to nine pages now :P
