Rural, Suburban, or Urban? Which do you prefer?

Do you prefer to live in a rural town? (More isolated, Calm, Lots of space, though some can argue less to do)

Suburban town? (Closer together, mixture of calm and fast paced lifestyle, slightly more to do)

Or an Urban town? (Fast paced, everything very close together, very populated, more things to do)

And Why?

(Or do you prefer to live somewhere in between two of the choices)

I bounce around between rural, sub-urban and urban all the time.

Each has strengths and weaknesses for me. I wouldn't want to have to choose just one. Luckily the Islands provide access to all three.

If I had more money, I'd be out in the Boonies. I have some fond memories of my grandfathers farm from when I was a kid. Even as an advlt I still enjoyed the peace an quiet that comes with living out in the country.

As it goes, I live in the city, but it's not a very big city, so it's not all bad. The neighborhood I live in is a pretty good one. Not too many undesirables living here.

I have lived in the Burbs, Downtown (Denver) and now in a rural town. Each has it's pluses and minuses. The biggest minus has been taken care of by Amazon. I can get whatever I need buying it from the web, so no need there for a large town. I do miss out on some culture as the town I am in is big enough to have some culture (concert halls, playhouse etc) but the larger acts tend to bypass us.

However not having to drive with 10's of thousands of other people as they race from one place to another is just too good to give up to go live in a larger city again.

I've lived in a suburban environment all my life so I can't say much. Although I have this desire to live in an urban environment, I have a feeling that would change once I actually experience an urban environment.

But as far as suburban goes, I don't know. It feels...average.
