Sacre tor confusion.

Why would you make up lore FOR A GAME (this book only appears in Oblivion) and then go against it??

EDIT: Oh, and I can think of some excuses, but I want to know what you guys think

Not-Citadels tend to be made out of things that are totally erased in about 100-150 years of neglect, like wood and straw. What you are looking at IS the citadel or what is left of it. The rest of the city would've been close by and in case of a siege would've served as annoyances that would have to be taken down for siege weapons to maneuver through properly.

Not-Citadels tend to be made out of things that are totally erased in about 100-150 years of neglect, like wood and straw. What you are looking at IS the citadel or what is left of it. The rest of the city would've been close by and in case of a siege would've served as annoyances that would have to be taken down for siege weapons to maneuver through properly.


True - if you assume the city houses were made of wood and straw. Add to that the limits of the game engine in portraying a complete world, and the limited time and resources the dev team would want to put into a city that you'll visit once for about half an hour...


edit: you don't see many structures that appear to ever have had any real function in the game, so why expect this from Sancre Tor? It's just another prop. I hope they don't cheap out like this on their next game... but then again, it's not easy making something like Assassin's Creed cities in an open world CRPG. A believable environment adds so much to immersion, though -- so I think they should take steps to improve this aspect.

No, I'm not surprised the engine couldn't put up. The engine's only so much better than pen and paper, hence the books are trusted with most world building.

You think thats contradiction? How about Pelinal fighting a battle in Sancre Tor 2000 years before it was founded atop Reman's birth-mound?

Anyway, what Dagon said. The rest of the city is likely buried, destroyed, or carried away for materials.

It's not about what's there, it's about where's there. He's saying the where is different in the stories from the gameworld.

My answer is that it is Talos related, and therefore jerry-rigged.

The land was remade the same way Talos restructured Cyrodiil within seven years and then did something else so that no one would ever remember the jungles.
