[WIP] Sadrith Mora Expanded

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 10:31 am

A lazy slacker, ain't I?

The problem is that I have a love-hate relation with this mod - but for those who are interested in this mod, my avatar will be a sign, if it is mageish, it means that I am working on SME.

The Underroots aren't all danger - you might meet some http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/underroots1.jpg, or a http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/underroots2.jpg who unwillingly http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/daedric2.jpg dating to the origins of the House (which will bring you into a realm not http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/daedric.jpg in many, many years...). If you are unlucky though, you might become the local necromancer's http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/necromancy.jpg

Wow. My recently dead anticipation for this mod has been resurrected. I really wanted to keep the alpha version installed, but the unfinished parts and doors to nowhere sort of ruined the immersion, so now I'm waiting patiently for the final (or beta) version...:)

Ressur... Ressurected?!

I'll need to talk with that enchanter, it was supposed to be a scroll of Animate Dead, not a Ressurect one! :swear:

But seriously, I can only hope people will still wait for the mod when I'm done - and remember that patience is a virtue ;)

I've been waiting for this mod since you first announced it. I think I'll load the alpha again. :)

Is this going to be compatible with CoM or have a CoM patch that moves the children to better locations like most of the other big city expansion mods?

Also, let me know if you need any assistance. With UL mostly out of the way, I do have some other projects on the go, but I've been bouncing back and forth between them because none of them are really gripping my interest like UL did.

I *think* it is compatible ATM, I remember moving a root which the swing would crash into were anyone actually use it... Hmm, perhaps I should revert that change

edit - well, I'd probably could use some help, but first I'd need to check and make a list of things I'd need it with - not to mention modifying the .esp so anyone else could use it in any way ;)

Excellent! From my work you may have guessed that I'm kind of a jack of all trades. I particularly love dialogue, quest writing, book writing, and scripting (I think that makes me strange ;) ), but I also love interior building and texturing. So whatever you need, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help bring this great mod to fruition. :)

Well, I'd say it's perfect, since I found out I'm not that good in the things you "particularly" love, nor in texturing - I'd be especcially gratefull for some help with the quests (but I'll need to write down some of the ideas I had (I hope I still remember everything - when will I learn to take notes?)).

However, as far as texturing is concerned, perhaps you'd be willing to pick up http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=877145&hl=? :deal:

I'll give it a shot. I've become significantly better at texturing since you first requested them. :)

Edit: I have to go to work soon, but I can fiddle around with the textures once I get home later tonight. I've downloaded the staff already.

Thanks!

And seeing my progress rate, you'll have a LOT of time to fiddle with them ;)

New Year News Update:
  • The arena got the axe - blame Bhl, he convinced me that it doesn't look good and fit the area
  • At the same time, he created some wonderful interiors, including a http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/MGEScreenshot26-1.jpg, and an Archmagister's area (where, among other things, a http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/MGEScreenshot24-1.jpg may be held)

When this is finally finished, I think it'll be the mod that'll get me back playing Morrowind. It's really looking great.

This looks great :)

Also Stupor it's great to see you again and to hear that UL is nearly done. I wish I could have done more to help you with it, but I got busy in life and kinda had to abandon obsessively Morrowinding ^_^

Aww, no more arena :'( But the tavern/banquet hall looks great. Maybe unofficial spell duels could be arranged in the underroots caverns...

The old arena may be gone, but among those interiors that I created is a new arena. I always liked the idea of an arena below Sadrith Mora, I just detested its former layout. :)

Curses! Foiled again! Why must you take away from me the pleasure of seeing other lose hope and despair? Oh well, there are still 363 days of perfecting my own ways - with all the values of a true Telvanni

Hmm, does anyone have an idea what to do with the area beneath Tel Naga - it's definately too barren there...

Also - would anyone be interested in some http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/misc.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/roots.jpg (forgot to place an NPC to show scale in the second pic, the almost L shaped root at the bottom row is ~3x the size of an NPC)

On actual progress - I've reverted most changes done to vanilla objects (in the very begining of my work on SME I've moved some houses - among other things - it should be more compatible with other mods this way), added some new buildings & roots around the place and started thinking about some NPCs to populate the underground areas. Plus some work on the interiors. BTW - I wouldn't mind seeing some ideas for potential NPCs ;)

A look at Neloth's chambers tells me that he is an avid alchemist: if I were an alchemist, I'd use that space to cultivate a herb garden. Since it's probably quite dark in that crater, and since water will probably be trapped for a while before it can seep away, it'll be quite moist too. So maybe I'd try to cultivate fungi and lichen there.

Absolutely, I love resources like that. And those are some great models!

As I'm likely to check (and perhaps convert) some more models, I'm not going to start a new thread (yet) for the model pack, nor upload it to a mod site - http://www.mediafire.com/?tzq3yjonjj4

Fungal rock garden http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/MGEScreenshot33.jpg and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/MGEScreenshot34-1.jpg
Also, the revanillising of the town made me move http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/MGEScreenshot36-2.jpg, and redesign http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/MGEScreenshot35-1.jpg.

This sounds incredible! I wish there were more great city expansions. This sounds along the lines of Balmora Expansion, which I absolutely love.

The one thing I would really like to see with Telvanni towns are a bit more magical-looking mushrooms and scenery. The plain, brown mushrooms don't really excite my imagination. I want to see glowing blue, pink, purple and green mushrooms and maybe pools and Asian-looking gardens. There definitely needs to be more richness and splendor. I would like to see it decorated something like a harem where there are beautiful tapestries, filmy veils and wall coverings, beautiful, lush carpets, pillows, unique furniture, etc. I would love to see the alchemists have gorgeous and unique bottles and potions and available housing for people who wish to live there. I want to see all the inhabitants looking like mages, not walking around in crappy, common clothes. Seeing slaves running around, doing their Master's work, or bound servants would be great too.

There definitely needs to be more vendors, and I find it strange that most of the vendors in Sadrith Mora work under a breezy awning. If this is a capitol city, you would think there would be more high class establishments.
