This thread is about islands explorable near Skyrim's coast.

I hope that we see some islands off the coast with ruins/caves/towns on them. Oblivion's islands rarely had anything of note on them, and I hope Skyrim has islands that have a real purpose. I believe there are a few islands along the northern coast, and they would be a great place to have a horker clubbing village or Falmer ruins. Pirate bases would be a nice addition as well.

What do you guys want to see as far as islands are concerned? Discuss!

:intergalactic: (I hope the thread title got that the Beach Boys song "Kokomo" stuck in your head) :intergalactic:

Sand.

On a serious note, some islands with ruins and maybe even small villaged would be neat.

I hope there is a mysterious Island that acts similar to an oasis in a desert. Meaning, despite the extremely cold region, this island has a tropical feeling to it. Anything is possible in a fantasy game lol

Man, I'm hoping for an awesome little seaside village or maybe an island like the ones in east Vvardenfell.

Smugglers like in Morrowind would be great, and pirates would be awesome too. Falmer wouldn't make sense though, considering the coast is one of the warmest places in Skyrim, around temperate I guess. It would be cool to see Khajiit smuggling in Moon Sugar and Skooma.

I think Skyrim's coast is full of glaciers and the most cold part in Tamriel

That doesn't mean we can't have inhabited and interesting islands, though.

Actually do we even have any specific information about Skyrim's northern coast? From the map it's not even a named region. I get the impression it's a very inhospitable area that most people avoid. Kind of like the islands trailing off Alaska. Not necessarily snowy but very rocky and very cold.

Really? Does a big island located smack dab in the middle of the country that had the largest city settlement in the game not count as noteworthy? ;)
