Is it safe to go in the Armory Vault 34?

Post » Tue Jun 29, 2010 12:28 pm

So i was wondering is it safe to loot the armory in vault 34.. wiki fallout says stay away from the armory.. i already cleared the vault. except for the armory.. but im getting bored of waiting for that god forsaken patch... and want to see if all american is a good rifle.

I didn't have any issues at all in Vault 34... Got the All-American and everything... I see the bug warning on wiki, but never experienced any issues myself.

So, you make it all the way through the Vault, fighting off the Ghouls, dealing with the massive radiation and now you wonder if the last room is safe?

What is in that room is not something you need to worry about at this point.

The only issue about Vault 34 that I can see is there are a few quests related to it, and I would have them all lined up and ready so that I only have to go in there once. Most of the time, the game will recognize things you do early before you are told to, but I like to have my ducks line up before I shoot them.

I'm assuming the issue had with it was regarding bugs.

As for me, I never faced any problems in the armory with regard to bugs or glitches.

Only problem I had was making the mistake of taking companions inside and havin them wander away to fight ghouls and such.

I have never had any problems with Vault 34 or it's armory. Like said above, companions tend to run amok but other then that it's fine.

Take plenty of Rad meds and the respirator. You'll be fine.

Companions run amok everywhere...you just notice it more in Vaults/indoors because there are walls and doors rather than open space.

Count me in the crowd of 'no problems w/Vault34'.

Bring lots of RadX/RadAway. bring lotsa Hollow point ammo. And bring an EMP grenade or two. You'll know when you'll need them.

I don't think HP ammo will work against armored Vault Security Guards and Officers with 400-550 Health. The Overseer has 900 health, so bring HP and AP rounds.

I did not know vault 34 was tied to quests. Found it just wondering the wasteland. I unlocked the Armory and looted it, took everything to my Novac hotel room and when I went to load it back up suffered the fatal DLC glitch. Thats what happened to me!

this is what was on fallout.wiki

"Saving inside the Overseer's office will result in a corrupted game save. Clear the Vault but do not enter the armory, unlock the armory from the Overseer's terminal, or save within the Overseer's office. You may go into the Overseer's office but can not save inside. The Armory is completely off limits until a patch resolves the problem. (Confirmed: once you use the Overseer's terminal. FATAL LOAD GLITCH)"

thats why i was wondering.

I think this is someone serioiusly overreacting. I've been in there 3 times on the PC version, and not even so much as a hint of a bug.

If you're that worried, save before entering Vault 34.

Which is why, when I did Vault 34 I took the alien blaster with me - sure made quick work of the Overseer who went down in 2 shots.

I've had no problems so far and been there three times. I've avoided Vault 3 cause I heard of glitches, but I've been to 21, 34, 11 and 22. No problems so far. Oh and the overseer was a breeze cause he got stuck and I just used the Q-35 matter modulator.

I haven't had any problems with Vault 3 or Vault 34. The only problems that I have in Vault 34 aren't bug related (Stupid Ghouls).

Although he is a damage sponge, I never found him an issue once the turrets are destroyed.

Grabbed the All-American 20 hours ago and still no FATAL LOAD GLITCH so, for me it was safe.

This hasn't happened to me. Been in there four times with different characters. I've been through alone, with companions, with V34 quest active, with V34 quest *not* active, and I've not had this happen to me.

I didn't save in the Overseer's Office though. When I go into Vault 34, it's like ripping off duct tape, or a band-aid -- do it fast and get it over with.

I think I'd rather fight Deathclaws than go into Vault 34 but the Armory is too good to pass up, especially at an early level if you can get through it. I didn't glitch on PS3 first game or PC on second game but I also didn't save in the Overseer's office when I used his terminal.

Search the Armory really well. Some things fall behind tables, etc.
