Safe to use the Ebony Blade afterlife-wise?

Post » Sat Jul 05, 2014 11:20 pm

After aquiring the Ebony Blade to keep it safe from more jerkish individuals, I later used it to wipe out the Dark Brotherhood, fully charging it in the process (likely because Mephala doesn't like the ol' DB compared to the Morag Tong). I've completed the main quest and I'm just wondering, would my character still go to Sovngard (she's a Nord) after death if I continue using it. I mainly ask because I love its look and no other nodachi exists in the vanilla game.

I've never bought the idea that performing a menial task for a Daedric Prince is the same as pledging your soul to them. I'd imagine the Dragonborn would have some sort of protected status, anyway. Being heavily associated with both Akatosh and Shor. (Edit) And likely avatars of both.

"Every time the Ebony Blade strikes an opponent, part of the damage inflicted flows into the wielder as raw power. The Blade itself may not be any more evil than those who have used it, but at some point in its long existence, a charm was cast on it so it would not remain with one bladesman. The wizard who cast this charm sought to save the souls of any too infatuated by the Blade, and perhaps he was right..."

Don't worry. Nameless Wizard has your back. :)
